Voting and elections
by Powermetal4ever ini've been thinking about the fact that jws dont vote in elections.
the main reason for this, i guess is that they shall not be a part of this world and so on.
there was no election in the times of jesus, so yes i understand that it needs an intepretetion, but why is that intepreted that they shouldnt vote?

The Watchtower controls every aspect of a winess' life. If they allowed voting, they should give guidance for which candidate/party to vote for, otherwize the mind control would blow, cause the members would feel freedom and power outside of the organization. Now, any organization who engages in politics is deprived of tax excemption, in the US, EU, AU and probably many other places. The Watchtower will do anything to maintain it's profitable taxfree real-estate flip-flop business, so dealing with voting members is out of the question.

Could it be the number of jw under 5 million?
by Crazyguy ini was thinking about this last night, in the year book they publish the number or peak and average publishers.
as we know a publisher could simply be a child getting out in service regularly.
if two parents baptized have to small children that are publishers then they are counted as four.

After all, it is a pyramide scheme (both mentally and economically), so they must at least show growth. Faced with that ultimatum, one thing for sure - if there's a standoff or slight decline, they will do everything to hide it.

Fudging the Numbers: Is the WTBTS in decline?
by Coded Logic init's no secret that the wtbts has a cash flow problem.
over the past three years they have closed 20 of their 116 branches.
they have sold off most of their properties in and around ny (including some kingdom halls), drastically reduced the # of printed pages for the watchtower and awake magazines, reduced the printing of books and other materials, increased the number of single page tract campagnes, installed cc machines at their assembly halls, and are now seizing of controll of property assets from local kingdom halls using renovation projects.

1) The members growth comes from the 3rd world - no donation numbers there.
2) Though the decline of members is still slow in the developed world, the donations have long since ceased because a large % of the dubs don't buy into the crap fully any more. Fear, paranoia and the no-way-out policy keep members in, but doubting members do not donate money and do not make very many new followers.
3) So, real-estate flip-flop is the new business. It would take years to earn net $100000 donations from a congregation of 100*, but if you make 100 ppl work on a building site for 2 weeks, you gain $100k by saving workforce costs in 14 days.

* Besides, in averagely and below average developed regions like the Eastern Europe, for example, it's even not possible. The 100 members flush the toilets for more worth than they donate (again, mind you that most are not donating anything any more cause they have doubts).
