After all, it is a pyramide scheme (both mentally and economically), so they must at least show growth. Faced with that ultimatum, one thing for sure - if there's a standoff or slight decline, they will do everything to hide it.

Could it be the number of jw under 5 million?
by Crazyguy ini was thinking about this last night, in the year book they publish the number or peak and average publishers.
as we know a publisher could simply be a child getting out in service regularly.
if two parents baptized have to small children that are publishers then they are counted as four.

Fudging the Numbers: Is the WTBTS in decline?
by Coded Logic init's no secret that the wtbts has a cash flow problem.
over the past three years they have closed 20 of their 116 branches.
they have sold off most of their properties in and around ny (including some kingdom halls), drastically reduced the # of printed pages for the watchtower and awake magazines, reduced the printing of books and other materials, increased the number of single page tract campagnes, installed cc machines at their assembly halls, and are now seizing of controll of property assets from local kingdom halls using renovation projects.

1) The members growth comes from the 3rd world - no donation numbers there.
2) Though the decline of members is still slow in the developed world, the donations have long since ceased because a large % of the dubs don't buy into the crap fully any more. Fear, paranoia and the no-way-out policy keep members in, but doubting members do not donate money and do not make very many new followers.
3) So, real-estate flip-flop is the new business. It would take years to earn net $100000 donations from a congregation of 100*, but if you make 100 ppl work on a building site for 2 weeks, you gain $100k by saving workforce costs in 14 days.
___
* Besides, in averagely and below average developed regions like the Eastern Europe, for example, it's even not possible. The 100 members flush the toilets for more worth than they donate (again, mind you that most are not donating anything any more cause they have doubts).

2014 MEMORIAL ATTENDANCES FOR REST OF THE WORLD
by steve2 inthe october kingdom ministry for the united states reported the 2014 memorial attendances for the us branch office that has subsequently been well discussed in a separate thread.
in that thread, a poster asserted that in some parts of europe the attendance had been higher than last year - but to date no source evidence has been provided.. so, have memorial attendances for other parts of the world been reported in any of the publications such as kingdom ministryyet?.
if so, could you direct me to the source(s).

Something Big is Coming...
by notsurewheretogo inthe annual meeting of the governing body of jehovah's witnesses will be in october 2014.. .. in november 2013, just after the last one they published this now famous statement in the 15th of november 2013 watchtower page 16 paragraph 17 says:.
"at that time, the lifesaving direction that we receive from jehovahs organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint.
all of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not.".

The intense "we must accept changes" cry is most probably due to the transitioning from door-to-door & printing to street & internet. Many of the r&f don't think of the door to door work and literature placements just as practical means of recruiting but as a command from the J-Dog (as the WT has been hammering into their heads for over 100 years). So now they may have confused feelings about all that.
I recall how there was a big fall-out among the exUSSR JWs in the late 1980s when the org made contact again and started enforcing contemporary policyes. Many who had been hardcore JWs through the Soviet era just didn't start going door to door and eventually told the org to fuck off instead (before WW II they advertized on radio and newspapers and only went to remote farms in person; no door-knocking in towns was happening back then over here).

"It's not religious..." Wait... What???
by dynamiterose77 inmy friend, mike works as a massage therapist, and there is a woman at the shop that is super-jw-woman and is constantly hounding him with things.. today, he's messaging me and he tells me that she was trying to push a brochure or something on him.
he said he'd really rather not read a religious pamphlet.. so... she says, "it's not religious... it's from god.".
isn't that kinda what religious means?

JWs have always been anti-terminology. This is the easyest way of demagogy and errand rethoric.
Cults are bad - but we are not a cult
I'm dissapointed in churches - but we are not a church
Your doctrines are flawed - we do not call them doctrines at all
Shunning is a brutal practice - we don't even use the term
And so on.
Works on those with IQ less than 33. And as we all know, the JW.orgy is not bothering about the other kind any more.

Oral argument court date to happen very, very soon. When the desicion comes down evryone on Facebook will know about it. Thanks for asking.
...says Kathleen today.
On a general note, from what I gather, the WT appealed, so that's why we are still having this discussion. No non-disclosure settlement, just going to the next level.

Oh, and if you want explanation in addition to the thing itself, please consider this. As they say, one picture speaks more than a thousand words. Why go great length to wonder why the WT does historical revisionism if we can just take a look at this "instructional photo":

You should really take some time to explore the musical world and find your new favourites.
Plus, on a technical note, the JW meeting songs are 95% four-chord bullshit. I never understood why they hailed their songs to 7th heaven, as I have a musical background and I noticed the incredibly low level of musical value in some of them right away.
Then again, they have to pull the songs out of their asses just as they do with the doctrine, so what is there to expect, not much.
