  These campaigns are designed to keep witnesses busy in a "super important work"

  Just like running on a treadmill......Lots of energy expended - but one gets no-where quickly!

  how many of you know about this san diego mansion?

  i just found out about it recently.

  apparently it was built for old testament faithful men to live in upon resurrection in 1925 such as abraham, moses etc.

  The most disturbing part about the whole thing is the lack of honesty and transparency by the society to the general flock!

  If one looks at the Proclaimers book, Beth-Sarim is given just a brief mention only!

  If they were and said "we messed up. We were wrong" it would be a gesture of humility!

  So, we are assuming that they will need to camp overnight?

  If so, that brother should be counselled for "staying overnight with sisters to whom he is not married!"

  Just curious - is apostasy grounds for divorce?

  i know only adultery is supposed to be grounds for "scriptural" divorce.

  i'm a wicked apostate in their eyes, but my believing husband and i still can't get a divorce that would allow him to remarry.

  we currently are separated - i have left him.

  I know of a case where a sister and her husband (not a witness) got divorced. However, they were still friends due to their child. Neither of them remarried

  Once when he was between houses, she offered for him to stay in her home with their child for a few weeks.

  She was brought before a Judicial committee for "having a male to whom she was not married" stay in the house with her!

  Yes, this is one of those "what the hell?!" topics that blows the minds of witnesses and those trying to fade!

  Sadly, there are MANY similarly disturbing topics and issues!>

  Why cant Judicial Committees be taped?

  i have never understood this.

  was it because of legal reasons?

  i cant think of any other reason why it wouldn't be allowed, but i know the elders ask you repeatedly that you are not taping.

  As blondie pointed out, the bible history shows that all "judicial" meetings were held in public in the city gates so that all witnesses could be present!

  That served as a restraint for inappropriate conduct, and a witness so that there could never be any doubt as to what occurred!

  But, why would the society allow bible precedence to dictate current procedures!

  Letter about changes in book 100 year kingdom

  yesterday a letter was read in our congregation.

  it said that there have been doctrinal changes in many chapters of the book 'god's kingdom rules' so everyone but especially the conductor must be sure to use the latest update of the book.. this book is only ...how old?
