Could this be the reason for one day assemblies

last saturday i sat through the one day assembly and i waited for the anticipated accounts report.

for one day the costs were $10,000.

even my wife questioned why the costs are so high and why don't they give a break down on the costs?

More bad news for the Organisation in Australia

it appears the the commonwealth government is bringing in a national compensation scheme for victims of institutional child sexual abuse with individuals able to claim up to $150,000 each.

it's clear that the australian government will not be able to fund this program without serious money from the offending churches.

Either way, we will NEVER see the society admit in any way that they have ever been wrong on anything!

This arrogance comes because they honestly think that they have God Jehovah's backing, and therefore can NEVER be "at fault" for anything!

There is NO humility in this organization.

Unlike its correct meaning, which alludes to people using logical and analytical skills to evaluate information presented to them,this has a NEGATIVE meaning in WT world: It denotes the act of finding fault with the GB and society...and of course that must NEVER be done!

My Story

so, i joined just yesterday after coming across this forum looking at beth sarim, and i though that i would share my story with you.

it will no doubt be very similar to a lot of others, but it's a way of getting to know me at least.. i was brought up as witness from the age of 4 years old, my dad picked up the 'truth' from one of his friends in the pub and it seemed to go from there, he would quickly get baptised and progress to becoming a ministerial servant and then an elder.

from a young age i wanted to be like my dad and become a pioneer, a ministerial servant and then an elder... perhaps even becoming a co. the world, spiritually speaking, was my oyster.

That is an amazing yet very accurate situation. And very sad!

That is worth starting a thread all on its own. Perhaps along the lines of how witnesses who can't think for themselves ....without using wt / bible verses to answer everything

Fudging The Numbers JW Style

i know most of us have probably figured this out already, but remember the good old days where you could only count full hours in the ministry?.

then one of the gb get some "new light" from their ass and proclaim that they lovingly will allow people to report 30mins, then even 15mins of time.

this was, supposedly, so that the old and infirm could have a joy in the ministry and report what little they could do.

Hey, I know witnesses who count Return Visits each time a familiar face passes them while they are doing the 'cart/street' witnessing!

So if you are a commuter who walks past the cart each morning, then they count a RV!

I am not kidding!
