Would you trust your Doctor if he got things wrong??
by stuckinarut2 injust thinking..... assume we had a family doctor that we had seen all our lives, perhaps he had been the doctor for your extended family too.
he is lovely man, very kind and honest hearted.. but if he had prescribed treatment or medication that was wrong, and had bad effects on you, then changed the medication to something else, then randomly changed it again etc, how would you feel?.
if you did some research into him, and found disturbing facts and things in his history that made you question his qualifications, how would you feel?

You're welcome ...
by Simon ini figured i'd shut the site down for a couple of hours to encourage everyone to do their xmas shopping.
the error message was a subtle hint, that's what "500 error" means ... go shopping.. whatever rumours you hear, it definitely wasn't that someone deployed a quick update before going on a 1.5 hour car ride to pick someone up and didn't think that the page they tested, to check it was all working after the update, happened to be cached.
no siree bob, not that, na hah.. anyway, you're welcome for the extra chance to, erm, shop..

Wow...
Honestly? Perhaps too strong and too much for that first response.
Perhaps if you had eased in it may have been more beneficial?
Still, what is done is done. She knows you are willing to have the relationship. It is up to her.

Yes, great point Scratchme1010!
You are 100% correct. Sadly, facts are indeed overridden by FEELINGS. You are correct.
Logic has nothing to do with the reason most witnesses stay.
Thanks for your comment.

Elders and CO visit to your home ... Let's Be More CREATIVE !!!
by RubaDub income on people, there can be a lot more interesting ways of handling the elder and co visits to your home than stated in some other threads.
i will give some here but want your input.. for example:.
-- if the elders/co want to visit, graciously offer them to come on your family worship night.

Well, Lot was a man of faith right?
How the society can even try and justify his actions is beyond belief!

Just thinking....
Assume we had a family doctor that we had seen all our lives, perhaps he had been the doctor for your extended family too. He is lovely man, very kind and honest hearted.
But if he had prescribed treatment or medication that was wrong, and had bad effects on you, then changed the medication to something else, then randomly changed it again etc, how would you feel?
If you did some research into him, and found disturbing facts and things in his history that made you question his qualifications, how would you feel? If he excused those issues or blamed YOU for researching beyond his word, how would you feel?
If you questioned his treatment, and he reacted by harshly saying "I AM THE DR, just do as I say", and threatened to maligned your name and slander your reputation amongst your friends and community if you spoke out about him, how would you feel?
Yet spiritually, the society has had a history of mistakes that they have tried to cover up. They alone claim to be the only "spiritual doctors" for our faith. They react harshly if anything is questioned. They blame individuals who don't tow the line.

Well played sir.
Yes, sadly, as soon as it gets "difficult" or an actual conversation with differing views arises, they will cut it off as being "argumentative"!
Simply respectfully expressing differing views is NOT arguing. It is called conversing.

Jehovah is unjust (outrageous article on slavery in last WT for public)
by Master_Bob inaccording to the last paragraph of the article entitled "escape from slavery—then and now" (wt#2, 2017).
jehovah god felt grieved by the harsh treatment of israelite slaves in egypt; he must feel the same way about similar injustice today.. .
if you call modern slavery "injustice", wasn't the slavery during moses time also "injustice"?

Slavery in any form , at any time in history is wrong.
The biblical "approval" of slavery, no matter how it was "regulated" was wrong. Pure and simple!
So too was the forced taking of women and children for the Isrealites to "use" when they captured nations. Wrong. Pure and Simple!
No one can try and convince me otherwise.
