How about a slight variation:
You Can Live Forever with Parasites on Earth
hello fellow apostates!
my first post and a long time lurker here.
i would like to thank all of you for the existence of this board as this has been instrumental for me in leaving the place i once knew as "the truth".
How about a slight variation:
You Can Live Forever with Parasites on Earth

G'day mate! From Australia!
why does the wt interpret matt.24:34 "truly i say to you this generation will by no means pass away until all these things occur.
" as having overlapping generations ?
and not applying the same reasoning to any other scripture/s referring to a generation or this generation .?
Great thread Smiddy!
Yes, the society's cherry-picking nature what defines a "generation" is mind blowing. Those other scriptures are excellent references!
Never in the history of civilization has "generation" meant anything other than one group of people...
wolves use their "loyalty" questions to trap others - "do you believe we're living in the last days/this is god's organization/faithful slave?
" - yet resolutely avoid discussing topics which put their org in a bad light, my "loyalty" question to them would be - "do you accept literature truth over bible truth?
" they will either run or be forced to ask for examples of alleged differences.any other suggestions for "loyalty" questions?.
simple mild question to reply with:
"So, the bible says God can never get things wrong can he? He is perfect right?"
(allow for answer)
"so when the society has got many things wrong, does that mean that God was having a bad day that day and making mistakes, or could it be that the society is not guided by God?"
just thinking..... assume we had a family doctor that we had seen all our lives, perhaps he had been the doctor for your extended family too.
he is lovely man, very kind and honest hearted.. but if he had prescribed treatment or medication that was wrong, and had bad effects on you, then changed the medication to something else, then randomly changed it again etc, how would you feel?.
if you did some research into him, and found disturbing facts and things in his history that made you question his qualifications, how would you feel?
Great point redvip2000!!
i figured i'd shut the site down for a couple of hours to encourage everyone to do their xmas shopping.
the error message was a subtle hint, that's what "500 error" means ... go shopping.. whatever rumours you hear, it definitely wasn't that someone deployed a quick update before going on a 1.5 hour car ride to pick someone up and didn't think that the page they tested, to check it was all working after the update, happened to be cached.
no siree bob, not that, na hah.. anyway, you're welcome for the extra chance to, erm, shop..
we just thought that the Holy Spirit had actually acted to stop us raving apostates!
about 3 weeks ago i created a thread due to my mom reaching out to me (we hadn't talked in over 2 years due to typical jw politics).
well, today she reached out again thought facebook messenger saying " i'm so sorry i hurt you my beautiful baby boy.
i'm hurting very much also.
Wow...
Honestly? Perhaps too strong and too much for that first response.
Perhaps if you had eased in it may have been more beneficial?
Still, what is done is done. She knows you are willing to have the relationship. It is up to her.
i don't know if this letter has been discussed or published here - apologies if it has.
this is not verbatim, but it basically said that even if j.w.

Didn't the religious leaders in Jesus time create a multitude of contribution boxes too?

Yes, great point Scratchme1010!
You are 100% correct. Sadly, facts are indeed overridden by FEELINGS. You are correct.
Logic has nothing to do with the reason most witnesses stay.
Thanks for your comment.
come on people, there can be a lot more interesting ways of handling the elder and co visits to your home than stated in some other threads.
i will give some here but want your input.. for example:.
-- if the elders/co want to visit, graciously offer them to come on your family worship night.
Well, Lot was a man of faith right?
How the society can even try and justify his actions is beyond belief!
