Stranger asks about your kids mental wellness. ..
by purrpurr inlast night at the meeting there was a suggested presentation about the new mags, which cover the issue of depression in minors.
the jw jumps straight from "hi how are ya" to "how is your kids mental well-being " and of course the hh is more than happy to discuss the inner workings of their child's mind with a stranger whose just knockedmon their door(!).
if it was me i'd be majorly creeper out!.

Has anyone else seen this video on JW Broadcasting?
by NikL inso i was checking out the website to see what the february broadcast was all about before i watched it with my jw wife.. on the front page was this video.... https://tv.jw.org/#en/video/vodbible/pub-jwbai_201607_1_video.
i watched it and pretended i had never been a jw.. if you pretend you don't understand their particular language it makes for a interesting (if not vague) watch.. btw i've seen several of the actors before.

Seriously, this sort of stuff is what ends up emotionally screwing up witness teenagers!
I cant even begin to articulate further my thoughts.....

Guilt as Motivator
by LifesNotOver ini've just come across this idea: i've been feeling guilty about not contributing more to this forum, given all the help i've received here.
i feel guilty that i haven't had it as bad as so many of you.
i feel guilty that i didn't have any jw family/friends that shunned me when i left.

Keep in mind, that the only power people or situations have over you, is that which you allow.
That keeps things in perspective.
Also, a great quote I read somewhere said:

Intelligent Disobedience
by George One Time indid you notice the expression "intelligent disobedience" in the febuary 2017 broadcast (at 7:30)?.
it was used with the illustration of a guide dog for blind persons, that sometimes has to disobey it's owner.. what a fine example for us!

Very intresting
by pepperheart inhi on the jw broadcast site they have about 5 days ago put up a special video about how people should fogive and if they dont they will become bitter.
do you think the watchtower know how many court cases around the world they have got coming up this coming year .

Perhaps what they are trying to make the masses think is "forgive us for the way we mishandled child abuse, and please don't take court action against us!"

2017 Circuit Assembly: Lesbians at school demonstration
by darkspilver insteve2: is there some way this can be presented so that it is crystal clear what was actually in the demonstrations and what was added?
i guess some will think it should be obvious - but this is where misunderstandings arise because we end up wrongly attributing something to jw organization that was never said.. circuit assembly theme: maintain love for jehovah!.
note to speaker: warmly encourage young ones to prove their friendship with jehovah by observing his commandments and defending his standards.

Wasn't it ToMo3 himself that almost spat out the word "DISGUSTING" when he gave that infamous talk about "The Homosexuals that design your tight pants"
He spat out the words "I THINK ITS DISGUSTING!"
So, did he get into trouble for using such harsh words??

Sometimes I think the WT is mocking the masses
by NikL inas in today's study.... 18 to lie is to say something untruthful.
(as in millions now living will never die, this generation will by no means pass away, allegations of pedophile abuse of children in congregations is apostate lies) however, jehovah wants his people to go beyond not telling outright lies.
he urged the ancient israelites: “you should be holy, because i, jehovah your god, am holy.” then he gave examples of being holy.

"would you drink a glass of water if it had just a tiny bit of poison in it?"
by stuckinarut2 inno doubt we have all heard that well used "illustration" in public talks etc over the years:.
"if you were handed a glass of water that looked pure, but were told it has just a tiny drop of poison in it, would you drink it?".
the society has used that illustration at length to say we should avoid all influences of every part of the world.. but, as we know, the society has had a track record of errors, false ideas and doctrines.
