  Aylmer, QC, Assembly hall for sale?

  i heard rumors that the jws are seeking to sell that assembly hall, is this possible?

  anyone has wind of it?

  i heard this once from someone a few month back and now, again, from mike and kim.

  i wouldn't dare bore you with the whole 3.5 hours of their dogma.

  but i have about a half hour of some of the main points.

  of course, i made sure tight pants tony was the main part of it, since he's the one that announced the reductions of the wt & awake and no more year book.. also, i have lett saying that jehovah gave jesus immorality instead of immortality.

  The "faithful and discreet slave" is simply a parable (story with a lesson) apparently told by Jesus...

  It has NO modern day application...no matter what the Society tries to claim.

  my wife and i were discussing a sure sign of a cult:.

  when one knows more about the society / organization after leaving!.

  lets face it, most of us here on this forum, and ex-witnesses in general know more facts about the history, background, practices, current procedures, scandals, etc than the average "still-in witness"!

  My wife and I were discussing a sure sign of a cult:

  When one knows MORE about the Society / Organization AFTER leaving!

  Lets face it, most of us here on this forum, and ex-witnesses in general know MORE facts about the History, Background, Practices, Current Procedures, Scandals, etc than the average "still-in Witness"! (even elders!)

  That is surely a flashing red-light!? A member of any group should be the most educated and updated of all people. NOT those who have left.

  from this post on reddit.com/r/exjw, damon wayans was at the 2017 annual meeting.

  the wayans were raised as jw's but i don't think any of them stated.. strange to see him here.

  this is the same man who defended bill cosby from all the sex abuse allegations..

  Contradicting Society directives

  with the agm changes, and the changes over the recent few years, it struck me just how contradictory and hypocritical the society is.. we were always told that "wonderful expansion" and growth in halls was proof of god's blessing.

  now it is the other way around, and building expansion is halted.. we were always told that door to door is the best way to take the "life saving" truth to people.

  now it is the cart work.... we were always told that the abundance of "spiritual food" in the form of publications was proof of gods direction and teaching.

  how often did we as witnesses say something like this : "unlike members of false religion, who venerate or worship through statues or idols, we give our focus to jehovah!".

  members of religious groups focus their religious adoration via an image or statue.

  they do this in order to provide some sort of focus to their need to worship.. witnesses give extreme focus on the name "jehovah" .

  All those badges and associated paraphernalia was first seen by us in earnest at the 2014 international convention.

  It blew my mind! I was gob-smacked at how ODD and disturbing it all was!

  Badges with the logo being worn by "ultra spiritual ones" . Badges with Caleb and Sophia being worn by grown adults....

  My cognitive dissonance was in overdrive trying to understand how bat shit crazy the average witness had become!

  Now, it is just common place amongst witnesses!....so odd....

  With the AGM changes, and the changes over the recent few years, it struck me just how contradictory and hypocritical the society is.

  We were always told that "wonderful expansion" and growth in halls was PROOF of God's blessing. Now it is the other way around, and building expansion is halted.

  We were always told that door to door is the BEST way to take the "life saving" truth to people. Now it is the cart work...

  We were always told that the ABUNDANCE of "spiritual food" in the form of publications was PROOF of Gods direction and teaching. Now it has been reduced dramatically yet that is supposed to be Gods will.

  We were told that the new website was PROOF of Gods care for us and the community...now its content is being drastically reduced.

  We were always told that "Jehovah's people are so well educated" with beautifully written and researched scholarly material in the form of publications that we couldn't keep up with. Now, the writing style is no more than that of a 12 year old's comprehension state.

  We were told that unlike Christendom, our message was not just about "feel good" platitudes, but about the "deep things of God". Now the thrust of all material is "ear tickling" fluff.

  Have I missed anything?

  i start this thread in response to a comment by a jw apologist called simonsays on another thread.

  he claimed to have read all three volumes of vindication by rutherford (my sympathy if true).

  he further implied that it didn't matter that old jw literature said wrong and stupid things, saying:.
