The Constant Mindchatter After You Leave

i've been out almost 2 years now and consider myself wide awake to watchtower propaganda and well on my way to recovery from the mental abuse we've all experienced.. one thing that just will not go is that i constantly think of jwism and watchtower and get myself all annoyed at their lies and blatant twisting of facts in their broadcasts and magazines.

it's so bad that it's the first thing i think of when i wake up, then i have these mental arguments in my head proving the jw teachings false and then getting annoyed because no jw will listen even if you tried to tell them.

i call this constant thinking and mental reasoning and mental arguing "mindchatter".

This week's (Jan 29th - Feb 4th) CLAM meeting "terrorist attack" video ...

this week's clam meeting has a video from jwborg entitled refreshing those “toiling and loaded down” about the organisation's response to two terrorist's attacks in new york (twin towers) and paris (bataclan 2015).. to me it is more about a back slapping "look what we do for you" than a "left hand not letting the right know" (matt 6 v 3) action of love and care.. ... ... ... ... ... .... if you've read this far - by contrast please google "didi bataclan paris" to read about a true unsung hero.

not forgetting the true heroes of 9/11 .... ... ... ... ... ... .

am i too cynical?.

And yet the greatest irony is, that if Jehovah brought on Armageddon the day before those attacks, BILLIONS would have been killed in what amounts to a mass divine terrorist attack!

So HOW can JWs mourn the loss of people to terrorism, when their very God will carry out a much worse attack "at any moment"!?

(according to JW theology, those who died in a terrorist attack actually are better off, as they will be guaranteed a ressurection into the paradise new world because they died before Armageddon, right? So it's good that they died, right?)

i've come across a jw friendly article about watchtower predicting smartphones in the 20s.. .

of course, in the comments section there are a lot of jws freaking out saying "there is no doubt that this is the only true organization!

", "thanks jehovah that used his faithful and discreet slave to tell us some useful information about the future!

How many "study" books have we had now that have had to be deleted?

Truth book

Paradise on earth book

Knowledge book

etc....

And all with new teachings to replace the old...

I guess it comes down to accepting that much of our very being will always be affected by the simple fact that we spent our whole lives in the cult. Also, our very formative years as children and teenagers.

So its inevitable that our synapses have been wired to think about Jw stuff...

BUT, we can redefine the nature of those thoughts, and change the reaction from an emotional one to an academic one.

We can't change our past, but we can choose to change our reactions to it.

Wow. Well done for focusing on studying to be a counsellor to help ones who are breaking free from a cult. That is such a noble and appreciated field to enter! Thank you for the contribution you will make to so many!

And please be aware of how much we do value your contributions here mate! If you do take a break, you will be missed.

When lacking education makes you say some eternal truths

i think some of us are familiar with those jw facebook pages that post images that are shared by our contacts from time to time.. i don't know if this happens with english speaking jws, but in the case of spanish speaking jws many of those images contain some spelling and grammar mistakes.. but this one is killing me nicely.. .

it literally means: "unless you use your life to serve jehovah, you will never feel empty".. beautiful :').

Found this little gem about sharing pillows with other brothers in the Insight on the Scriptures book

usually three persons occupied each couch, but there could be as many as five.

the head of each one would be on or near the breast, or bosom, as it were, of the person behind him.

i`m sure you have all noticed the ever increasing number of newbies and lurkers who have visited this site over the past months and i am sure we could all collectively welcome them to this site and support them on learning the ttatt .

and helping them to navigate how they can look up older publications and quotes of the wtb&ts that they would rather remain hidden.. we all know jehovah`s witnesses /governing body never apologizes for mistakes they make they just don`t mention them anymore and explain it away as new light from god.. actually a big cop out.. welcome to all you who are new to this site .. every day their seems to be someone new posting which is great .. and if this is any indication of what is happening in all other ex jw sites the wtb&ts are in deep trouble .
