There is NO PERSON that signs off. All letters come from "watchtower bible and tract society", or some other entity they use in that region.
No matter who authored the letter, it merely comes from "the society"
for many years i hosted the ex-jehovah’s witness meet up group in portland oregon.
i heard a lot of sad stories about what people had lost trying to get away from the jehovah’s witnesses.
there were whole families that were wiped out.

We KNOW how private information about house-holders has been used in the past. We did it ourselves. We kept details about their names, family members, dogs name, kids details, religious background, discussion topics etc... It was taught to us by the society. Such information can easilly be misused.
So, it is fantastic to see how the world has progressed to recognise that this is not appropriate anymore!

if you ask random people what jw's beleive you will rarely get the so-called "good news": gods kingdom is going to soon usher in a paradise earth and fix all the worlds problems under the 1000 year reign of christ.. you will instead get: "they're the people who... 1. don't celebrate christmas or birthdays, 2. don't take blood, 3. go around with the watchtower, 4. have big assemblies... etc etc".

So I have sent in my third letter. The first was ignored and the second only prompted the receipt of a three line response from them basically saying "we have nothing".
So, this one, while polite and formal, is strongly worded to highlight that they have an obligation to provide the data I have requested. If not, further action will be taken. ( i have quoted all relevant legal sections and documents that pertain to my right to this data)
I have sent it via registered mail so that they can not ignore it.
I will post more details and perhaps even copies of the letters soon.
