Child Sexual Abuse: The Organization Oozes Self-Congratulations over Non-JWs Tireless Work

who could have anticipated entire watchtower study articles devoted to child sexual abuse?

an appreciative shout out to all the people who worked tirelessly over so very many, many years to call the organization to account over its defiantly self-serving policies and practices on responding top allegations of child sexual abuse.

Those pictures were no doubt a deliberate attempt to imply changes to the authorities such as the ARC.

An outsider may think that these pics show a woman being involved in the process, but we KNOW that this does NOT indicate that a woman is ACTUALLY in the official cong proceedings.

At best she could sit in while a "shepherding meeting" takes place AFTER or BEFORE a judicial committee.

These pics were an attempt at whitewashing, and a form of manipulative damage control at their "finest"

"Straining the gnat, and gulping the camel"

while watching the annual meeting videos on the official jw channel, i was struck with this scriptural expression:.

"they strain out the gnat, while gulping the camel" matt 23:24. this section was full of condemnation for the wicked religious leaders who were focusing on minor silly things rather than deep important topics.. the amount of silly things the gb focuses on is amazing!

they pedantically focus on things like proper pronunciation of words, (such as s lett joking about how isiah is best said), while missing major issues and topics like the proper handling of child abuse issues, or the court cases being lost worldwide!.

The amount of silly things the GB focuses on is amazing! They pedantically focus on things like proper pronunciation of words, (such as S Lett joking about how Isiah is best said), while missing major issues and topics like the proper handling of child abuse issues, or the court cases being lost worldwide!

They spend huge money and time on minor topics, while missing the major topics that would actually be of benefit to people!

a thought struck me regarding the biblical directive found in a few places including exodus 20:4.

"do not make a likeness of god in the form of any creature that is on the earth or heavens ".

it would seem disrespectful to use "dirty" creatures to describe perfect beings?.

So, if it is wrong for "God or "Divine Beings" to be made out to look like mere earthly creatures, WHY do books like Ezekial have beings like the "living creatures with 4 faces" presented to readers?

Why are mere earthly animals used to describe "Perfect Heavenly beings"?

It seems contradictory right?

this is worth reading.

basically it seems to be referring to the "mean girl" syndrome where girls who were once part of an in-crowd are suddenly ostracised by their peers, the feelings of despair that overwhelm them.

however, social aggressors usually finish up with deep seated problems of their own.

Yes!

Turning the tables is the way to go.

One of our dear fellow forum members who walked away from the religion and her toxic parents has done this successfully.

When her parents told her she "has left Jehovah and should find another family" and other toxic comments, she did just that. She built her life successfully without her parents being a part of it.

Now her mother is at a hysterical level trying to beg for association with HER!

Yes, it's so funny to see the desperation of the JW parent as they try to develop a relationship with the child that THEY chose to cut off! She often says things like "you can't just ignore us..."

When the tables are turned, look what happens!

Hi fognomore,

Thanks for opening up and sharing this thread.

We get it. We understand. To recognise that we were duped into a false set of beliefs that shaped our whole life is very confronting.

I know it sounds contrite, but believe me it gets better.

When I look back at my own journey from the early days here on this forum, to where I am now, it spins me out.

Let me reasssure you that there IS life after being a JW, and it is a wonderful life if we allow it to be.

Find those life activities you enjoy, find new friends, and treasure each day. You now have the choice to determine your own life free of the oppressive and controlling FOG from the society.

"It is the victims right to approach authorities" The weak excuse used by the society

we have seen that the society falls back on the line "it is the victims right to approach the authorities" during all the abuse claims.. they use this excuse to try and defend the passive lack of action in failing to report suspected cases of abuse.. a comparison came to mind:.

if we came across a person lying in the street who says they were hit by a car, would we say "it is your absolute right to call the paramedics and police"?.

or would we take the initiative and call those authorities ourselves to help the person?.

Sorry if it seems odd to revive my own thread, but given the fact that the GB has just issued the May 2019 WT dealing with "Child Abuse", I just had to chime in...

How dare they hide behind the line " it is the right of the individual to report if they wish"

If we know of a crime, it should be reported - simple.
