i'm sitting here at the mtg, and i can't believe the mind numbing stupidity of this weeks wt "study"...( i use the word study loosely too by the way...).

how many dumb repeated questions can be posed to try and make a point?.

Ok, so some classic comments from our audience:....

"the world has become so obsessed and preoccupied with so many types of foods, drinks, and restaurants etc! In the 50' here in Australia we had only about four or five types of meals to choose from. No one knew about wines, or coffees etc. we didn't go out to restaurants or coffee shops, or watch all those fancy distracting tv shows about chefs and restaurants!"

"the violence is so bad, it has never been like this in human history before"

I had to literally hold back my vomit....are they that stupid? This weeks bible reading alone is full of more violence than anything that ever happens in our town or city!!!

The opening paragraph illustration re blindness is classic! How appropriate is it for the wt to speak of people looking for something, yet being so blind to what is in front of them?

Nauseating JW.org section for small children - CUTOUTS? Really?

i am not hot linking to jw borg, but they have a whole section for obviously very small children (become j's friend, with a whole array of caleb-related stuff).

i have actually never visited the site, today was the first time, because i wanted to check a technical information about their websites architecture and came across this sh*t!.

the way they are targeting small kids is nauseating me (i have a 5 year old, still in with her mother).

Kids in our hall are so excited by this stuff! the little ones speak of caleb and sofia like they are their BFF's! One came running up to me at the hall blbbering "Caleb and Sofia have a new game...they have a new activity...its so fuuunnn!" I was thinking.."who/ what?"

The indoctrination has been working sadly!

i heard something through the grapevine...was curious if it was an 'official view' long story short, it was stated (??

) that a jw would have been killed had she stayed home and not gone to a ca.

(in washington state) has anyone else heard about this?

That is so sad clambake!

What happened to the 'duty of care' the cong should be showing?

They had a responsibility to encourage wise behaviour (just as a bartender shouldnt let someone who is drunk go out and drive...its his duty of care to try and encourage him to get a cab or taxi)

So this cong should have encouaged the memebers to avoid driving in such dangerous conditions!

The damn guilt that counting hours instills! It cost these witnesses lives (and traumatised the truck driver too!)

Are you a good person?

something happened this week to make me think about this again.. it feels like all bets are off and i really don't know what a good person is anymore.. when i left the jws i was so sure i knew what it meant to be a good person.. this has been revised many times since.. i tend to favour the utilitarian approach, the greatest happiness for the greatest number of people.. sometimes you have to stick your neck out and say this is not good for me no matter what others may feel they need from me.. no idea where i'm going with this maybe this is a breakthrough in my life or maybe that glass of wine was stronger than i thought!.

any thoughts?.
