  Did you bring anyone in the "Truth"

  Nasty Weather Down Here :-(

  the ancestors used to refer to this type weather as the easter snap.. it's cold and rainy.. my teenage granddaughter is sullen and hostile.. my little jw daughter is cool and aloof.. i am so happy for this forum.. thanks, people.. sylvia.

  so the latest clip on jw.org for kids is so wrong!.

  it is about the "victory song".

  lets all sing songs about how vengeful and destructive "our loving god" can be...along with cartoonish pictures...... all rejoice at the death of the evil people who used their "god-given free will", then got punished for doing so!.

  ah... sitting here again.... hearing mind numbing parts about "the ministry" and how to do more etc.... hearing supposed "real life experiences" about stuff that supposedly happened out " in service" .....all exaggerated, cos i was with this person and i can tell you that what they are relating never happened like this at all!.

  Have the bible highlights talk... All suggestions accepted!

  ok, so i have the bible highlights talk this week.. exodus 1-4 i think?.

  i would love to drop a thought provoking comment into my talk... any suggestions?.

  so far i have been thinking of showing how violent god was to the egyptians.

  Well, thanks for all of your ideas and suggestions everyone! I have finished the talk now, and I spoke about gods acts of violence throughout history, including the plagues used in Egypt and the so called reasons behind it..... So the balance is that god says " vengeance is mine", but that is also a "god of love"...??? He also says "any one loving violence is hated by god" Just a few thoughts of "compare and contrast" nature to make a point hopefully.. Seemed to go well....

  Ah tiktaalik, you may like to re-read the guidelines on how to interact on this forum friend. It's very easy to speak rudely when hiding behind a computer.

  There is simply no need for the aggression you seem to be showing. I hope you can manage to calm yourself, as you seem to be very quick to arc up and take offence...at something that doesn't concern you. I actually appreciate some of the points you have made, but I don't appreciate your harsh manner or reactions. Please refrain from speaking to me like that. Thank you.

  but yes, I have realised that it probably wouldn't be of any benefit to the general audience to say anything too much.

  What JW beliefs did you used to hate trying to defend?

  as one of the jw "young ones" i was always expected to witness to my friends at school if i wanted to make god's heart glad or whatever but i didn't.

  the closest i ever got was just explaining why we didn't celebrate christmasetc.

  even then i was just reciting things i read in publications.. one topic i always tried to avoid talking about was birthdays.

  Trying to defend the section of Genesis where lot would allow his girls to be raped...then why he would allow incest to happen...then hearing the WT hold him up as an example to imitate the faith of!

  Hi Bigmac...yes I think you will find that many current faders post while at the hall!

  Got to love the approval of having ipads at the hall! It gives us a window to the "evil internet apostates" while in the hall....

  Its better than staring blankly out of the literal window....
