by OnTheWayOut inchronic fatigue syndrome refers to severe, continued tiredness that is not relieved by rest and is not directly caused by other medical conditions.. did you have many congregation members, particularly pioneers, that said they had " chronic fatigue syndrome" ?.
that's their "get-out-of-jail-free card.
" they were free to cancel anything at anytime and it was their legitimate reason for not doing anything that didn't involve field recruiting.

No one is mocking those who really suffer from an illness.
The ones mocking are actually those who dilute the real suffering of others by pretending to have something when they don't....
As I mentioned ( as did others here who also spent time in bethel ), many times I saw bethelites who wanted a change of assignment, or wanted to leave often suddenly "came down with something"....
My roommate did the same. He was fine, but didnt like his assigned job, so within two days came in the room and said "I have cfs and have asked for a change of assignment" (hey jwfacts you might have even known him?...)
So yes, be angry with those people for faking it and casting doubts on real sufferers!

JWs in a frenzy!
by leaving_quietly inanyone else get the distinct impression that jws are being worked up into a frenzy with all the changes and activity nowadays?
by the end of august, there will have been four campaigns inside of a year.
one last november, a memorial campaign, a convention campaign and an advertise jw.org campaign.. then there's the conventions with all the hooplah around that with all the video, and the aggrandizement of synchronized gb talks.

We have one elder in our cong who was always a very smart accomplished career man, business man, earning money, building homes etc...normal in other words..
BUT in the last year or so, he has become like a broken record! Any time he has a talk, or part, or anytime in a general conversation, he keeps banging on about "just how close the end must be...how much gods organization is steeping up the pace, how the celestial chariot is on the move quicker than ever. The end must be only a few months or years away " etc...
I cant wait to throw it in his face in 5 years time....
So yes, I certainly feel that an increased hype exists out there at this time.

by stuckinarut2 inok so this weeks book study says that jehovah does not protect individuals in a miraculous way..... but the yearbook gets filled with so called experiences of "faithful" ones blabbering on about "how god saved me etc".
these ones are held up as examples of faith etc....... how do they justify the double standards?

No doubt parents have played the game with kids (perhaps in a car on a long trip) where they keep them from getting bored by playing "games" or coming up with stupid "things to look out for"?
Its just the same with all of these announcements etc! They are just things designed to keep the enthusiasm levels high so the average witness doesn't get too bored....
Advertising and marketing people do the same thing. They design a product, release it to market, then when the hype starts to die down they release a "new and improved" version (usually the same stuff just repackaged) and the hype builds up again!
So too with all of these "new" announcements!!

my 11-year old is light-years advanced with his intelligence and humour.. he's going around the house singing "listen, obey, and be castrated.".
was not impressed.. pretty hard to contain my laughter..

I still shudder when I hear of the families in the cong playing that 'sing-a-long' clip of the kids in that DVD singing that song!
Its such classic manipulation!
I literally feel sick , as it is designed to stop any ability to think for them selves critically, BEFORE they get old enough to do so!...

in rev chapter 20 the indication is that the bride will also be reserected and rule (reign) with christ for a thousand years.
the gb states that these ones are starting to be reserected in 1918, 4 years to late and yet by 1935 there was still about half of these ones still yet to die.

It always has amazed me...(even when a full-on believer), that some of these numbers in Revelation are supposed to be literal (1,000 years, 144,000, etc), and some are just symbolic!?? (like grains of sands of the beach, 12 tribes, etc)
