As with most leaders of high control groups or regimes, sadly, they do believe it all 100%

The governing body are digging their own grave.
by atomant insurely the gb aren't naive enough to believe their own lies.what does it take for the majority of j dubs to wake up to themselves and finally realize that they are being robbed on all levels emotionally.financially, spiritually, intellectually and many other aspects of their day to day lives..

Abandoned by JW and yet trapped
by awake!watcher inhad an enlightening discussion with my 20 something, baptised, awake son.
he said he feels abandoned by the religion, and yet trapped at the same time.
i had never thought about it that way before, but can totally understand where he is coming from.

The borg is fighting tooth and nail to not turn over sex abuse records, and the press is taking note :)

They make the comment that "those found guilty by a judicial committee of the sin are removed from the congregation". Great, safeguard the cong....right?
As the Aust Royal Commission then skilfully pointed out: "So if you find someone guilty you disfellowship them from the cong to protect the cong...BUT what do you do to protect the community at large?"
To which Jackson said "well what can we do?"
The judges said "you can report them to the authorities!"
Silence.....

Fate, chance, divine retribution or sh*t happens?
by eyeuse2badub infate, chance, divine retribution or sh*t happens?.
so i described a cordial conversation with my jw wife and super-duper jw mil last week in which they encouraged me to ‘return to jehovah’.
i told them that i would not be fooled thrice.. later that week we were discussing a fine mutual jw friend, ‘brother x’, that met with a very untimely death.

That reasoning of witnesses simply falls apart with just the slightest bit of logical thought...
They want their cake and eat it too!
If something bad happens, then it is "time and unforseen occurrence".
Or if it happens and can be spun as a marketing tool for the society, then they will twist it...

Jehovah loves "even rounded numbers" or could this be a way to disprove the inspiration of the Bible?
by notjustyet inwhile i am not able to recall them all at this time, i remember so many instances that when a number was quoted in the bible, especially large numbers, they were all "rounded up" to the nearest hundred or thousand.
for instance the angel killed 185,000 syrians, not 184,879. sampson killed a thousand men with the jawbone of an ass, not 961. and on and on on the even rounded numbers.
i would guess that it could be agues that these numbers were correct but is that realistic?

Great thread!
Yet another nail in the coffin / straw to break the camels back etc....
All that believers can say is : " well, the bible says it is inspired of God and true, so it MUST be true!"

Today's Text - Show Appreciation For Elders! LOL
by Divergent inwednesday, august 10. holy spirit has appointed you overseers, to shepherd the congregation of god.—acts 20:28.. it is important that we show appreciation for god’s arrangement for shepherding his flock.
christian elders are a provision from jehovah, who always acts in our best interests.
the elders are “like a hiding place from the wind, a place of concealment from the rainstorm, like streams of water in a waterless land, like the shadow of a massive crag in a parched land.” (isa.

Yes indeed daringhart13!
I can verify that many times over! Oh the stories I could share about the way some elders spoke about members of the "flock"!
I pulled one up once by saying "do you think we should be so quick to judge our 'poor flaxen wicks and crushed reeds' in the congregation? We don't know their circumstances, and even if we did, we should always be kind!"
That was the beginning of the end for how I was treated by the rest of the body...

Nobody can!
The broadcasting and videos are really odd, and smacks of cult-like behaviour.
Run now....
By the way, Welcome to the forum!

Three graphs in connection with the Watch Tower's current financial situation
by slimboyfat ina number of public statements by the governing body indicate that they are experiencing financial difficulty and they have appealed to jws to donate more money.
public information on the financial situation of the watchtower society is limited.
but what does the information they do publish indicate about their situation?

What a rebellious and critical spirit you show by such analysis brother!
You obviously lack faith that Jesus is using the GB as his direct spokesman and channel...so whatever they spend is completely ok!
You almost sound ...wait for it..... Like an apostate!
