"A little leaven ferments the whole batch of dough". A way to make witnesses think!?
by stuckinarut2 inhow can we briefly make a calm, dignified point to witnesses we care about such as family or friends?
how can we make them think?.
here are a couple of well known scriptures: (from the revised new world translation.

True LHG. True.
I guess this method is something I want to try not just to attempt to reason with a witness, but also to show them that "we" (ie all of us that have seen the 'truth' and left), have not done so over some personal slight, but due to valid "scriptural" reasons.
Now I don't personally subscribe to the bible or any belief structure nowadays, but using the bible is a way of establishing a foundation for discussion and disarming those still in.

And not just the past!
With the latest updates for the JWapp, there were what looked like a dozen "updates" for current books!
Sure some might be software updates, but many will be for content update too!

Yes, I remember that well used illustration about "just one drop of poison in the glass"
We all used that to denounce false religions.
So , it is similar for witnesses. If the society is guilty of JUST ONE falsehood or scandal, no matter how "small" the issue is, then surely they are NOT God's channel on earth!

Here are a couple of well known scriptures: (from the revised new world translation. Silver edition)
Galations 5:9 "A little leaven ferments the whole batch of dough"
Luke 16:10 "The person faithful in what is least is faithful also in much, and the person unrighteous in what is least is unrighteous also in what is much"
So surely if these scriptures are to be used as a basis for reasoning, then the Society / GB / Organisation has much to answer for?
If talking with a still-in witness, think of the best suited topic that affects or touches their heart and then say "so if the society has failed in this one matter, they fail in all matters?"
Think of hot topics such as the mishandling of child abuse, the failure to remain neutral in political matters with the UN / Mexico etc, or the rewriting of history. Or any number of topics that we know will make an impact on them.
If they try and duck and weave, or explain things, simply ask them "if a faithful witness was secretly committing sins, would it be ok if he was also a regular pioneer, or would his very standing be called into question?"

Weekly Scripture Twist - aka the Watchtower Study
by doubtfull1799 in“more than material assistance, refugees need spiritual and emotional support.
(matt.
4:4) elders can help by obtaining literature in the language of the refugees and by helping them contact brothers who speak their language.

Simply disgusting.
This sort of shite from the GB is lapped up by witnesses as it ABSOLVES THEM OF NATURAL HUMAN KINDNESS.
Yes, they can now do absolutely NOTHING to help their fellow man, yet feel SMUG and arrogant at the same time!
Surely the message from Jesus via the Good Samaritan illustration was to render aid? And of note, it was actually an APOSTATE who gave such care! Yes , Samaritans were apostates of Judaism right??

Yes, how creepy! I certainly would not be happy if my teenage daughter was playing sport there while two middle aged men were holding their phones up in their direction!
Wherever that location is, I wonder what the local council or shire would think of that?

Stonewalling and the Governing Body
by UnshackleTheChains inwhy do the gb stonewall individuals with legitimate questions.
for example, they refuse to speak to investagative journalists like trey bundy, unless they happen to get caught somewhere walking about in the street by chance.. i remember the panorama documentary 'suffer the little children' where the presenter tried to arrange an interview with one of the gb.
i can't remember if the gb either refused or simply didn't reply.

Oh and can you please advise me if these trousers are too tight? I am putting on weight, so things are a bit snug nowadays....
Oh, and can I please have an autograph...from Caleb and Sophia?

Can the GB be directed by Holy Spirit and at the same time be not inspired ?
by Chook inyes god directs our writings but they're not inspired, so gods directions are staggered and overlapping , so the genuine innocent believing jw has a wonderful life of overlapping bullshit.
so next time you meet a jw priest ask them what is the difference between being directed and inspired, then i promise you will hear first hand an example of overlapping bull..

As I calmly said to my father in law recently, "doesn't the bible say that Jehovah is the same always, a rock that never changes. One who is the epitome of truth? Then why would he purposefully give false information to his people, just so he can change it at a later time? Was he just having a bad day?"
Or, could it just be that the GB is full of crap and is not gods "spirit directed channel"? (that's what I wanted to say but decided against it)
