I so wish it would do the independent movie circuit here in Australia!
How can I contact the production company to ask?

Apostasy: The Movie - Directed by Daniel Kokotajlo
by darkspilver indaniel kokotajlo's new film apostasy has it's world premiere at the toronto international film festival in september 2017. apostasy.
family and faith come into conflict for two jehovah’s witness sisters in manchester, when one is condemned for fornication and the other pressured to shun her sibling.. this fresh, unadorned first feature from director dan kokotajlo carries an unmistakable note of authenticity from its very first scenes.
set in a jehovah's witness community in england, the film's strength and power lies in its directness.. apostasy depicts the growing rift in a family — a mother and two daughters — who are rigorously devoted to their religion.

Tell me if I’m wrong - Jeffery Jackson is not a governing body member.
by Truth and Justice inyesterday, i had my sister come over to tell my mother and i that she will no longer have anything to do with us, because we need to come back to the meetings, it’s what jehovah wants, and hands her a letter to read and asks for a final hug.
my mother has been dealing with a terrible lost of dad since july, and has been very ill with stress because of it.
i no longer belong to the organization either, and i have been helping my mother out thru this ordeal, it is just as rough on me.

I understand the ignorance of some JWs.
My very active, still in Elder father also didn't seem to know who "Tony Morris" was when I referred to his talk once (The tight pants rant)
He replied "I don't know that Brother, and I don't follow any personal opinion of men anyway. I Follow Jehovah!"
I realised then just how brain dead he must be to not recognise that according to JW theology, Jehovah speaks through Jesus, who speaks through the Governing Body, of which Tony Morris is one....

It’s My Anniversary!
by jp1692 intoday is the four year anniversary of the last time i set foot in a kingdom hall.
it was the day of the kool-aid issue of the wt!
“at that time, the life-saving direction that we receive from jehovah’s organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint.

Can you top this example of JW corruption?
by Mace.Bean inif you are a former jw elder, can you share any examples of corruption which you personally witnessed that were kept secret from the congregation?
following is an account from a longtime elder named tommy who recently disassociated.. the minor daughter of a presiding elder in a west texas congregation committed fornication with a 19-year old baptized witness in her father’s home.
the daughter had to confess to a judicial committee which included the aforementioned tommy.

So let me share some of the things from our last congregation.
The Alpha-male bully elder had a 18 yr old daughter who lost her drivers licence for drink driving. He went around telling ones in the congregation that she just wasn't driving for a while while her car was being fixed. He asked me as a fellow appointed brother to ensure that this edited version was spread around. I refused and said it wasn't anything to do with me.
Meanwhile too, he was integral in covering up a case of child sexual abuse perpetrated by another elders son against the young daughter of a family in the same congregation. These two elders then used their power, charisma and charm to ensure that the family of the young girl had their names besmirched, their character slandered and their reputations maligned. They implied that the girl and her family made it up.
That is just a very quick snapshot of the main points...
Yup! Gods spirit directed organisation indeed.

The anonymity of Jehovah's Witness material
by stuckinarut2 inis it vital for credibility to have the name of the writer of an article referenced?.
does this allow for honesty and accountability?
does this assist in ensuring that whatever is presented is as factual as possible, or not biased in some way toward the religion's ideas?.

Are JWs capable of a genuine discussion?
by stuckinarut2 ini was just pondering whether jws are capable of having a calm, in depth discussion about religious or faith topics?.
i have just finished listening to a great podcast by "dogma debate" (dan) episode 333. this fantastic, in-depth conversation between a theist and an atheist was a masterful example of how a dignified conversation can take place without it resorting to abruptness or even nastiness.. jws on the other hand seem incapable of having such discussion without ending up in the following ways:.
1)they get dogmatic and defensive if a differing view is presented.. 2)if the conversation doesn't go their way, they cut it short saying something like "well, we had better agree to disagree" or the like.. so why the arrogance?

The Governing Body's credibility
by UnshackleTheChains ingiven the proliferation of websites, youtube channels, books and other forms of media attention focusing on the extreme policies, teachings and scandals of the watchtower bible and tract society; where does this now leave the governing body's credibility?.

The GB are really only focussed on controlling those "in-house".
Their efforts are going toward keeping those who are already JWs on the treadmill.
This makes sense, as NO SANE outsider would take them seriously.
So do they really have credibility? Well, to a "captive audience" the answer is yes....but even those "captives" are starting to see the 'crazy' just ooze out of the GB each month!

Apparently Jehovah`s Witnesses have no scruples about " LYING" to their GOD Jehovah
by smiddy3 ini thought it was bad enough that jw`s put in weekly reports of fs hours every month in the d2d work when in fact the average publisher would never mention this "good news of the kingdom" to the householder .. more often than not it would be something like some mundane thing about what they have observed about the householders property whether they have kids ,what a lovely garden they have before being cut off by the householder with i`m not interested knowing jw`s are trying to convert them/sell them the watchtower and closing the door.. yet the jw goes away happily putting in a report telling jehovah they have spent so much time in the fs witnessing about him and the kingdom of christ jesus...... cart witnessing is even a worse lie ,why ?
because jw`s make no attempt to witness to anybody they expect people to come to them to be witnessed to which of course never happens .
they spend hours upon hours a month telling jehovah by their fs reports they hand in how much they have witnessed for him ,when in fact they have done nothing of the sort .. they chit chat among themselves witnessing to nobody for hours on end and then lie in their fs report they have been witnessing for jehovah ?.

It seems so foolish now looking back, that we felt we had the obligation to submit a "report" of our time!
I suppose that it what being in a cult does to us - makes us do ridiculous things without question!

Loyalty.....the new buzzword promoted by the watchtower Bible and tract society
by UnshackleTheChains inloyalty appears to be the buzzword constantly promoted by the gb at the moment.
we hear it at conventions, assemblies, and meetings.. let's face it loyalty covers so much.
shunning of family, friends etc.

Ah yup! How convenient that the new new world translation had those words changed! Obviously it was by design, and tied in so well with the convention topic!

Tony "Tightpants" Morris Talks Of Tight Pants AGAIN!!

And when I was at bethel during the mid to late 1990's, we were repeatedly counselled on "baggy clothing being inappropriate for Christians"!
If our suits were deemed to be too loose, or not fitting, the Bethel elders would make it a point of concern!
Seriously, how times turn....
