this post hopefully will get you thinking about therapy, along with good mental and emotional health if you are dealing with the traumatic choices associated with leaving jw's, or if you are considering leaving.

because it is a trauma.. imagine a married couple in their late 30's.

because they took last weeks watchtower seriously, they have decided to talk to an elder in their congregation because they have practiced oral sex on each other, and feel a need to confess and get "spiritual help.".

Yes, stepping over appropriate boundaries is THE definition of a high control cult like JW.

It breaks down the individual members ability to think for themselves, hence creating the infantilised situation where the Society has to tell each one how to think and behave.

Yes, once the FOG (fear obligation guilt) has been lifted, and events like the memorial is seen as the ritual that it is, life gets better and better!

does anyone one here remember any articles in the watchtower in the nineteen sixties or seventies that specifically stated the that the witnesses should refrain from having children because of the proximity of armageddon?.

i guess i should never have made a bound fire with my thirty years of bound volumes lol.

It started away back in the early days of the Society.

The book "Children" had a whole section promoting that young witnesses remain childless, and even unmarried!

Lets put this into perspective people.

Lloyd has Patreon supporters who choose to donate a small amount each month to assist him in producing his fine work.

I believe that he only has 30 or so people that do that! The most anyone donates is approx. $30 per month that I know of. So 30 people, each donating $30 equals a grand sum of $900 per month! If that! (some people only donate $5 or $10)

So he is hardly getting rich off this! Try living on $900 per month!

He literally spends whole days at a time producing the work. What do we earn for a full day's work? Likely more that he would ever be making from the returns on his book sales.

Rather than looking for reasons to hate, maybe we should be thankful for the aspects of his work that we have individually benefitted from...basically FOR FREE!
