"Keep testing if you are in the faith" Just like a Doctors visit??
by stuckinarut2 ina thought came to mind.. often when we awaken to the "truth about the truth", jws will ask "what made you start questioning things?
they act as if we are doing something wrong by questioning facts.. but, the scripture at 2 cor 13:5 clearly says "keep testing whether you are in the faith, keep proving what you are".
so, this implies regular checks of our faith, and all we believe to be true.

A thought came to mind.
Often when we awaken to the "Truth about the Truth", JWs will ask "What made you start questioning things? Why are you doing this??"
They act as if WE are doing something wrong by questioning facts.
But, the scripture at 2 Cor 13:5 clearly says "Keep testing whether you are in the faith, keep proving what you are"
So, this implies regular checks of our faith, and all we believe to be true.
It is like going to the Doctors for a regular check up. We may not feel sick, but we go regularly to ensure all is ok with our health. In the course of that check-up, we may be made aware of something. Do we just ignore it and say to ourselves "well I felt fine last time, and I dont need to give attention to this issue!"
NO, we take the Drs advice and take steps to give attention to the things before us! We dont bury our heads in the sand.
So, it is no different to "waking up" to TTATT. WE have carried out a regular check of our faith, and found glaring issues that can not be ignored.

Zeal vs Fanaticism. What is the difference?
by stuckinarut2 ina good friend of ours and i were chatting the other day about the difference between a zealous person and fanatical person.. what is the difference?.
why is someone praised for being "zealous" , but another person is mocked or condemned for being a "fanatical" person?.
how would jws be classed?.

How would JWs be classed?
They proudly say they are Zealous for their activity. We though would look at their blind allegiance and obedience to the Society, while ignoring facts, as being "Fanatical"

JW stopped me in the street.....
by Phizzy inhe pulled up in his car beside me and asked for directions, then he recognized me, we used to be in the same congo.. the usual pleasantries, i gave him directions, and then "when are you going to come back then" he asks.. "never" i say, "well, it has all changed" he says, " it's not like it used to be" i detect a tone of regret.. "but you know there is nowhere else to go" he boldly proclaims.. "yes there is !
" say i, "there is somewhere where you can find truth, and truth is supported by facts and evidence ".
he had to drive off then as he was blocking a narrow street, i did not get time to say " go to jw facts.com", i will tell him next time..

Wow...
Some people just have to belong to some group. They need a sense of belonging - even if it's not true.
They can't even comprehend the idea of not being a part of something. It's their "club"
Facts and evidence and truth have no bearing on such ones.

Former Jehovah’s Witness jailed for child sex crimes
by Tahoe inhttps://www.perthnow.com.au/news/crime/former-jehovahs-witness-jailed-for-child-sex-crimes-ng-b88859067z.
a former jehovah’s witness who sexually assaulted three young boys says his homosexual inclinations were repressed by his religion and manifested in his crimes.. gavin andrew lamont, 46, was jailed for four years today for assaulting two vulnerable teenagers in the early to mid-90s and another boy about 20 years later.. lamont encouraged the teens to give him massages and suggested he needed help checking for testicular cancer.. district court judge linda petrusa said lamont, who knew he was homosexual from about age 13, had significant cognitive distortions around sex because of his religious beliefs.. .
she said the victims, who were aged between 14 and 16, were vulnerable because of their youth and lack of sophistication.. judge petrusa sentenced lamont to four years behind bars for indecently dealing with a child and four counts of indecent assault.. lamont was kicked out of the mundaring congregation in 1997 after one of his victims complained to other members, but was reinstated after doing counselling with elders.. he was kicked out of the congregation for a second time in 2014 after another victim made a complaint.. lamont’s crimes came to the attention of police last year through the royal commission into institutional responses to child sexual abuse.. defence lawyer seamus rafferty described the case as complex, saying lamont struggled with his sexuality because his religion told him it was a sin.. he told the court the church was the essence of lamont’s being and said his client tried to repress his sexuality and ended up behaving in “naïve, unsophisticated and pathetic ways”.. lamont’s parents and sister are all living with complicated health issues and rely heavily on his help and care.. mr rafferty asked judge petrusa to give lamont a conditional suspended jail term, saying he was the glue that was holding his family together.. “this is a case for the exercise of mercy, its mercy towards them (his family) and nobody else,” he said.. judge petrusa accepted a prison term would be tough on lamont’s family but said an immediate jail term was the only appropriate punishment.. in a statement to the court, one of the victims said he felt that he was “forever stained” by lamont’s crime.. he said the abuse had made him self-conscious in his dealings with his own child.. lamont will be eligible for parole after spending two years behind bars.. .

Smiddy and George mentioned the tetragrammaton.
I can remember when the Perth Western Australia Assembly Hall used to have a giant tetragrammaton hanging over the top of the stage! This was later removed and deemed to be "idolatrous" as were the WT logo's.
Now the use of jworg is SO common that it insults the previous decisions to remove such things!
