  Online Bible Study! Yes they finally did it!

  since the org discovered the internet i saw that one day they would release an online bible study so the people didn't need the witnesses to be indoctrinated by the gb.

  i have to admit that i didn't think they would do it now, without a great cerimony or announcement, but, hey, it's on!.

  "One drop of poison in a glass of water"

  time to revive this well known, and often used jw illustration!.

  "if you are in desperate need of a drink of water, and the glass in front of you is 99% clean, but contains just 1% poison, would you drink it??".

  how often we heard this trotted out from the platform.. recently though, i have heard many examples of still-in jws sharing their observations about things that don't seem quite right with the current activities, direction and culture of the organization.

  Time to revive this well known, and often used JW illustration!

  "If you are in desperate need of a drink of water, and the glass in front of you is 99% clean, but contains just 1% poison, would you drink it??"

  How often we heard this trotted out from the platform.

  Recently though, I have heard many examples of still-in JWs sharing their observations about things that don't seem quite right with the current activities, direction and culture of the organization. They share comments with ones who are fading or who have left about things that trouble them; EVEN observing the SERIOUS issues brought up by the mishandling of sex abuse cases worldwide.

  Then such ones often fall back on tired apologetic excuses like "well, where else would we go?, and who else preaches good news?, and who else uses Jehovah's name? etc etc"
  

  So, can this illustration above be used to help such ones?

  Can we say to them "If just ONE drop of poison exists in your glass of water, is it safe to drink it?!"

  Maybe add "Revelation says to 'quite touching the unclean thing', so should we not do the same?"

  Did your ability to work get affected by waking up to TTATT?

  just curious.. when you started to wake up to the truth about the truth, did the shock and the whole experience distract you from your usual activities such as performing at your place of work?.

  did you become so consumed by researching, and the subsequent factual discoveries, that it affected your ability to carry out daily tasks?.

  Just curious.

  When you started to wake up to the truth about the Truth, did the shock and the whole experience distract you from your usual activities such as performing at your place of work?

  Did you become so consumed by researching, and the subsequent factual discoveries, that it affected your ability to carry out daily tasks?

  so as many of us know, alex o'connor (cosmicskeptic) did a great video a few years back in response to the appallingly homophobic caleb and sophia cartoon!.

  he gets a lot of views for his videos, but this one has more than any other presentation by him!

  JW Nut Telling His Story Online

  while searching for some jw related stuff online, i stumbled across this page created by a pimi.

  his name is steve mcdowell and a watered down version of his story was published in the watchtower https://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/wp20150701/bad-to-worse-life-story/.

  however, this version, he says, is the full version.

  Wow!

  Great find PE!

  I wonder what would prompt him to release this full account? It isn't exactly flattering to the Society. It shows how they 'edited' the account to make it more palatable, and it speaks of the embarrassing 1975 history!

  Yes, we are shunned completely by all family and "friends".

  Neither of us are DF or DA. We simply stopped attending.

  Mind you I have been known to post some very "thought-provoking" posts on social media that has resulted in EVERY JW blocking me!....

  Governing Body trying to control marital relationships

  4 years ago during the circuit overseers visit he asked a rather innapropriate question from the platform.

  i say it's innapropriate because i think it's wrong to tell happy married couples how to love each other and much more wrong it is to tell them they should love their children less.. he said: "mothers, who should you love more your children or your husband?

  " i think most mothers will quickly say you should love your children more.

  Ah yes Still Totally ADD....the messed up mindset many JWs have. Sex is to be viewed as wrong, dirty and guilt inspiring for a lifetime since childhood. Then SUDDENLY AFTER they are married, its all ok? From one day to the next, a whole lifetime of learned behaviour can't just be rid from the mind.

  The cult has certainly done a real number on so many jws....

  So I guess the interesting question is : HOW did this video become public knowledge? Did it get uploaded somewhere? How did it see the light of day if the elders didn't implement it?
