just curious.. when you started to wake up to the truth about the truth, did the shock and the whole experience distract you from your usual activities such as performing at your place of work?.
did you become so consumed by researching, and the subsequent factual discoveries, that it affected your ability to carry out daily tasks?.
Thanks for the comments everyone!

how does the watchtower dispose of kingdom halls no longer usable because of poor attendance and or merging with another kingdom hall.the rank and file contributed lots of money to keep it active.. then they tell us their not using it anymore.where does the money for that hall go.
and what they do with the money they get for the sale of that property.
they certainly don't give the rank and file anything.. and what use will the new owners use it for.
Great article Lost In The Fog! Thanks for that newspaper link.
That will be the first time that building has ever contributed to the welfare of people in a positive manner!
Thats a great find OrphanCrow!
Can you start a new thread just on that video please?
It deserves to be featured.
in 2 weeks we will be announcing major changes in northern ohio congregations and there is quite the buzz in the area about it.
just talked to a jdub from the detroit area that just underwent similar changes, and they mentioned it has been "quite exciting" to get to meet new brothers and sisters.
so besides the cash benefit of selling a couple kingdom halls in the process.
These khall amalgamations will also make many in the congs upset, as they will miss their friends etc...
Thats a good thing! Sow a little discontent, and it will allow them to slip into a bit of negativity and then a bit of research online...and then they may learn something...
please check out this thread from exjw reddit: .

any thoughts?.
Yes Millie, I started a thread on that. I think the Mormons call their cartoon kids "Matt and Mandy"
Ah didn't you all hear?
Caleb and Sophia's parents split up. You see, their father who was an elder was found out to be a scum-bag elder who knew of child sex abuse cases but didn't report it to the relevant authorities. So he was arrested for hiding a crime and sent to prison along with all other local elders and elders at the local branch office.
Then their mother turned to pills and drink to numb the pain and shame once her prayers to Jehovah were not answered.
Caleb and Sophia saw how messed up their religious upbringing was, and pursued their education right through to UNIVERSITY, and became cult-counsellors and set up a practice to help others leave high control religious organizations...

Well, sparrow down, I know of a few in our country who are doing just this right now.
This includes ones who were elders, pioneers, bethelites, convention speakers etc...
The responses all come from the same office or desk of bethel, so they are noticing the activity.
Come on everyone! Join in the fun!
hi does anyone have any bad ministry experiences to share or really funny ones?.
some of mine were:.
- having water sprayed on us with a hose.
hahah! How many times did we secretly THINK those words like the sister said above?? Come on - be honest now!
https://www.jw.org/en/online-help/using-jw-org/online-bible-study-lessons/online-bible-study-lessons-video/.
since the org discovered the internet i saw that one day they would release an online bible study so the people didn't need the witnesses to be indoctrinated by the gb.
i have to admit that i didn't think they would do it now, without a great cerimony or announcement, but, hey, it's on!.
That introductory video is SO CHEESY!
Surely most people will be put off by that?
time to revive this well known, and often used jw illustration!.
"if you are in desperate need of a drink of water, and the glass in front of you is 99% clean, but contains just 1% poison, would you drink it??".
how often we heard this trotted out from the platform.. recently though, i have heard many examples of still-in jws sharing their observations about things that don't seem quite right with the current activities, direction and culture of the organization.

Recently though, I have heard many examples of still-in JWs sharing their observations about things that don't seem quite right with the current activities, direction and culture of the organization. They share comments with ones who are fading or who have left about things that trouble them; EVEN observing the SERIOUS issues brought up by the mishandling of sex abuse cases worldwide.
Then such ones often fall back on tired apologetic excuses like "well, where else would we go?, and who else preaches good news?, and who else uses Jehovah's name? etc etc"
So, can this illustration above be used to help such ones?
Can we say to them "If just ONE drop of poison exists in your glass of water, is it safe to drink it?!"
Maybe add "Revelation says to 'quite touching the unclean thing', so should we not do the same?"
