Awww......
Now i'm all sentimental.....
haha...
In truth, she DID find me after 10 years. I would've searched for her, but didn't know her married name, and I was so sure she was still ultra-pioneer GOOD girl, i figured she'd burn her computer if i tried to contact her. ("it's been demonized now!!") hehe.
high school is supposed to be one of the most memorable years of your life.
i had fun in my high school days, as i didn't become a jw until after i was married and had a child.
those of you who were born into the borg, your high school days must have been boring.
Odrade...you ever post my bunny picture, and I'll post your wedding pic, arms and all!!
Bwah hahahahahahaha
did your process of leaving the organisation and learning new stuff feel like growing up to you?
looking back at your time in the so called "truth", do you think you were misled or even "naive"?
even "innocent"?
Odrade-
You told YOUR dad he needed to grow up?? Oh man... Wish I hadn't gone back home 2 weeks ago. I would've hid in your spare bedroom and listened.
As far as the topic...Yeah, I'd definately say it's like growing up. I think if you put ANYONE, no matter their age, in the situation of losing pretty much everyone and everything they love, you kind-of are forced to grow up. I know, personally, i went from being an insecure little, 19 year old kid, to being strong enough to deal w/ pretty much anything. I jumped out w/ both feet, tho...i didn't ease out, so I really got slammed w/ the shunning bit. Went from having a million friends and big family, to having pretty much no one. So, that in itself gives you ample opportunity to self reflect and realize how much you really needed to change in your life. For all the newbies out there, it really does get better. And all my friends that I loved and missed the most are out now, anyhow. (yay, Odrade!!)

Spunky-
At least they let you go to prom. I wasn't so mad about not going to mine, but I was REALLY annoyed w/ not getting to go to Grad Night.
And I did go to my 10 year reunion....it was a blast. I haven't changed much since HS (Odrade can confirm this) but, it was SOO much fun to see all the cheerleaders had turned into fat cows. I think everyone was surprised to see me there, and see that I was no longer a little wallflower JW girl.
Cas- So sorry to make fun of your sad, sad life. I humbly offer my apologies.

Poor you! You sound to be in great need of stories. That is a sad, sad testimony to your life. Maybe you should get out more....

HAHA....VEEEERY funny, Odrade. I was young....he was cute. Enough said. And he STILL doesn't know he's gay, so it doesn't count. Bad, evil, MEAN Odrade!!
Cas- I do believe that phone number won't connect, i think the country code is wrong. Alas, too bad. I had a GOOD story in mind.

You'd better watch it, 1-800-boyuknow sounds like a phone # that might end up getting calls from boys, rather than girls. :)

Haha...Caspian.
SADLY, i really WAS a good, little JW girl. However, with THAT said, you'd better believe I've been making up for it now that I'm no longer a good, little JW! hehehe.
I only tell stories to boys I know. :)

Well, I'm new here...to posting at least. I've read a few threads here and there.
My High School life...
My dad is a "super" elder, and I went to a really, REALLY small school, and was the only witness kid there. As you can imagine, I had to be an example to the "worldly" kids, as well as not being able to do things because I might "ruin my reputation". Yeah, my reputation as the poor, witness kid who's insane parents never let her do anything. I could attend ANY extra-curricular activities, and I also couldn't join any clubs or take classes that might make me spend time w/ the BAD kids.
I was not allowed to take sex ed when I was a sophmore...they made me go to the library instead. I was the only kid in class who's parents wouldn't sign the acceptance form. Yeah, that was embarrasing. Also, no dances, no dates, no talking on the phone w/ boys, couldn't join National Art Honor Society, because it was a club. (yeah, NAHS is a HOTBED of Wild Sex. :)) I was a good little JW girl, and even though it made me mad, I rarely told my parents how I felt about all of the restrictions. The times I did, I just got yelled at and told that I wasn't being a good witness, and how I had to be an example for other kids, since my dad was Super Elder.
I had a few scholorships to some art colleges, and they wouldn't let me go. BAD people in art school. So, I never got to go to College...which really affects me now that I actually WANT a career.
Anyhow..that's my story.
