Perhaps they will begin listing older publications which no longer contain "current light" which should be turned in TO THE KINGDOM HALL for "recycling". In this way, those embarrassing contradictions between current light and older light will be minimized.

Watchtower crackdowns 2007 recap
by drew sagan inso i've been thinking about many of the different things the wts has put into effect this year in keep their strong hold on the flock: .
- a new edition of the watchtower for jws only that uses all of their insider terminology.
- individuals who are disfelloshipped, dissassociated, or have ceased association with the congregation should not receive the current literature.

Assembly Deficits
by WTWizard ini noticed a number of people have already had their summer a$$emblies, and fall a$$emblies are yet to come.
what i would like to see is how many have noticed a deficit on the last afternoon accounts report, and if known, about how big was it.
also, did they have a surplus at an earlier report, particularly if the surplus was big and the amount of the deficit was impossibly large.

The title of this thread reminded me of Ed Kretzinger, in Texas Circuit #1, who used to come on stage at some point during assemblies and give an accounts report based on expenses and contributions. Often he would say something like "We are in the HOLE!", and exhort those attending to give more generously.

On Amazon.com: "Your search "Dionne Galace" did not match any products." Perhaps she is published under a pseudonym?

Did You See Married Couples Arguing Loud in Public,Kingdom Hall, Anywhere ?

i remember seeing fairly often married couples at times verbally sparring in public at times in the kingdom hall or parking lot.

Once, after service I observed a young brother threaten his wife, with a loud angry voice, saying that he would "slap her into next week", if she didn't stop disagreeing with him about some trivial matter. They moved a while after that, the last I heard, he was a ministerial servant in Kansas City. Don't know if they are still together, but I couldn't help but feel that she deserved much better than him.

I believe that the writings describing what is now called "The Rapture" were nothing more than wishful thinking of a handful of Jewish folks who were resentful that "their lands" were under the rule of the Roman Empire, and longed to see that Empire fall from power. Greco-Roman mythology describes a "Rapture-like" event at the death of Hercules. Does it seem reasonable to believe that this really happened? IMHO, nothing remotely resembling "The Rapture" can reasonably be expected to occur during anyones lifetime, now or at any time in the future. The same can be said with regard to "Armageddon" and all other Christian predictive mythology. It just isn't going to happen, because the most basic premise of the belief system is based onf false assumptions.

Some ancient Greeks believed that the human race had passed through various "ages", the first was the Golden Age, in which humans were noble and just beings, almost gods. However they fell from this state of near perfection and entered a Silver Age, then a Bronze Age, then an Iron Age, in which the Greek writer lived, in which men were warlike and always seeking ways to harm other men. These legends may be hints of some actual earlier cultures which had already passed away, such as the Minoans, which the Greeks admired. The use of the term by the WTBTS is in agreement with their teaching of the once perfect state of the human race.
