anyone read this book?
what's you're reaction, if any, to the basic premis of the book (that the holy grail is ... oops - i don't want to spoil it for those who haven't read it yet).
the author takes a ficticious incident and weaves some little-known yet interesting and provacative facts throughout his story.

a few weeks ago, a brother called me out of the blue and asked me if i was interested in working for him.
he told me he had his own business and was looking to "expand.
" he told me i "was a special person" with "good qualities" and "capable of going places.
Sounds like Blondie hit the nail on the head: it is a business cult.
I was interested about a year ago...but I sensed it was a pyrmid scheme....
do you wish that you could have lived in another time period?
i'm talking about like the early 1900's or late 1800's or any other time?
even the depression time?
I ditto every comment Blondie said: she rules!!!

hello everyone, i am new to this discussion board.
my name is pinned blouse because once i was wrongly df'd and i no longer attended the meetings, i noticed all my blouses had pin holes in them where i fastened safety pins in them to make sure i was always "modest" lol.
mind you i do not have large boobies but i did not want to "tempt" the brothers.. .
Welcome Pinned Blouse!!!!
Love that name...and I also thought it was something to do with those stupid badges we were suppose to wear at the conventions!!! (the last few years I didn't, cause I didn't want to ruin my dresses!!!...yeah I was a huge rebel)...lol
So sorry to hear about your brother....Death is not easy for any of us....My thoughts are with you.
Hope you enjoy this board....they have been of great help to me....I highly recommend getting together with ones from this board if you can....
Hugs,

.
am i dreaming this up, or aren't they a pagan symbol?
if so, why would jw's continue to use them as part of a marriage ceremony in jehovah's eyes?.
Ditto what Steve just said....Seems like everything has pagan roots.
Like : Pretzels....I did a thread on that a while back, learned that while watching the Travel Channel one night.
Rose: Anagram of Eros, the Greek god of sexual love. The rose has always been the premiere symbol of female sexuality. In primitive goddess cults, the five petals represented the five stations of female life: birth, menstruation, motherhood, menopause, and death. In modern times, the flowering rose's ties to womanhood are considered more visual.
It is amazing how they justify some pagan things...after all, pagan is pagan!!

his name was robert thigpin and i worked with him for eight years (1990-1998).
last night he killed himself.
while we didn't always see things eye to eye, i could always count on him and he was a good co-worker.
Sorry to read this (((Steve)))...
one never knows what is going on in another person's life ...
Hope you are doing ok....
hugs,
