  Face it - some people WANT to be a JW!

  after many many conversations with my family i've come to the conclusion that some people just want to be a witness.

  they need that security of being told all the answers - of having their decisions made for them - and the tight social group they're involved in.. the truth is - it's much harder when you don't have all the answers and you have to think for yourself.

  i guess some people just aren't ready to face that.

  A lot of people understand there are consequences for just not wanting to be a JW after learning the truth about the truth(tm)....even though it compromises their integrity. Huge consequences....

  They find it simpler to keep their built in friends and don't want to be "shunned"...they can't fathom how to "start over"...it is a fear that has been instilled since every meeting. They fear without the meetings they will "die at Armageddon). The mind control has worked!

  Funny thing...when we study with people before baptism, we tell them that is what their family will do to them when they study with JW's...it's reverse situation!

  When they are ready to learn the truth about the truth(tm), when their rose colored glasses come off.....will be a "defining point" for them. It could be a very simple act of unkindness or some major tradegy in their life when they didn't receive the "love" they were promised.

  TD: thanks for your help....I am still wondering where my copy would be...

  If you could...find out if in 1974, there were any questions saying that we were dedicating ourselves to the WTBS...

  As I recall, it was to be a footstep follower of Jesus....and a dedication to Jehovah to do his will in modeling his son Jesus.

  thanks for the response Elsewhere and Blondie....

  I want the list of questions to appear worthy to the elders asking me the questions...where can I find those?

  Elsewhere....thanks for that site, are those the questions asked at the assembly or D. C.???

  I was baptized in 1974, and I don't recall being asked to be loyal to an organization before the elders...

  he mentioned he was going to church in my area so naturally i asked what religion are you.

  Sandy: wow...I don't know of very many guys that are regular church goers and APPROVES of premarital sex......What a jerk!!! You encountered too many "red flags" with this guy just from conversation.

  Glad you didn't meet this guy.......he obviously lives by double standards and is NOT good relationship material.

  Why this is not xjw forum

  i used to wonder why with so many xjws on here ,or nearly xjws on this forum ,why it was not named so .

  that way we would not have so many troll's and practicing jws come on this site looking for people in their own religion ( cough ) .

  now when i see a newbie join and they are practicing jws ,i think maybe just maybe by them not knowing most here are out of the cult and they read the threads posted by so many knowing and knowledgable people on the forum ,that some may log off and actually think of some things that have seen.
