Wife arranging for me to study with a brother! I need a plan!
by M.J. inhere's the situation.
my wife couldn't answer some deep issues i've raised regarding a few of the wts's teachings and dishonest representation of historical sources.
naturally, she attributes her lack of answers to her own lack of research and knowledge.

M.J.
Wow....do you really want to study a book??? He will NEVER answer your questions fully....it will take forever to get the answers you want and he will be gloating he has a "new study"...Do you want to see him at your house every week and keep asking you to the meetings???
I say: write down the specific questions your wife couldn't answer....Use these questions for ONE meeting witht the super JW. Don't get hooked into a weekly study. He should know how to answer ONLY your questions.
You are a smart guy....if you feel you need to read the Knowledge book to get an "edge" on the reasons why he is answering a certain question, I suggest you do that in your spare time...Maybe before you meet with the super JW. (also grab your wife's "Reasoning From the Scriptures" for a quick analysis of JW terms and answers to questions. That is the book all super JW's carry in their "book bag" for quick and easy reference when in the door to door work.)
Anyways....more power to you!!!
Keep us posted!!!

Many congrats Terry on being a new "jedi"....
I am far too humble to say what I am really good at, I feel much like Blondie's oh wise comment:
"Remember our strength may come from the areas that we think we are not good in."

WOMEN 'R SUPERIOR TO MEN
by DannyHaszard inwomen are biologically superior to men.how so: .
(1) women have a longer life expectancy than men, there are more widows than widowers.
this is due in part to(a) the protective effects of estrogen which helps protect against hardening of the arteries.. .

The Pain & Devastation of Learning the Truth about "the Truth"
by MerryMagdalene ina while back i posted my experience about running into an old jw friend who revealed to me he had left the "borg" and told me all about why he had.
today he e-mailed me something he had written and i want to share it for the sake of those who are going thru something similar.
i think it helps to know that we're not alone in our turmoil.

I will not share a meal with you but can you give me some money
by tyler m ini had to come here and post about this.
my parents who have dutifully shunned me for nearly 9 years had the nerve to ask me for money.
it wasn't for food, a car payment, house payment or anything like that.

I am so sorry to hear about what has just happened to you.
What really got me was this comment:
I told my biological father I could not afford it because I was supporting his 2 other children who he abandoned when they left the cult known as Jehovahs Witnesses and I was not about to help pay for them to go to the headquarters.
You are supporting 2 of his kids that he has turned his back on?....SHAME on HIM!!! What kind of a DAD is he? Did he even RESPOND to that comment?
I probably would blow up on the phone at my DAD if I had the same circumstances to deal with...
So sorry you are having to deal with such lack of love.....and btw, "Welcome to the board"...

It's been one hell of a day : (
by calamityjane intoday started off good, it's mother's day, i get breakfast in bed.
then i'm outside doing what i want to do, getting our trailer ready for camping season.. what i thought my hubby (xjw_b12) was doing in the meantime was wishing his mom a happy mother's day, but he came out of the house and was a little on the off side.
instead of what i thought was he was doing and calling his mom, he caught a call from his mom instead, advising us that his uncle passed away on friday, by taking his own life.

(((CJ and XJW)))
I am so sorry to hear about your family loss....so very sorry
XJW should have been called ASAP regardless of the fact if you are active jw's or not....that is just "human decency"...
Even as an active JW I was treated horribly when my Dad died. We were gone longer on a vacation because he died. When we came back home I saw an elder's wife in the grocery store. She asked why our vacation was so long, I replied, "my Dad died"...She said "was he a JW?", when I said "no"....she walked away...no condolences are anything.
I am sending you both much positive energy to help you deal with this sad and very stressful situation...
many hugs to you both,
