How can twelve years olds get baptized? it is crazy!
by happehanna inmy daughter's step child is getting baptized at the ripe old age of 12.. my sil is angry and i feel he should try and stop it through the courts, but they feel that would make his ex more determined for baptism to go ahead.. this child has no idea of the mistake they are making .
would she get married at 12?.
it is so sad and irresponsible for a child to take this step.. .

Just my story
by libidinousfaerie insince i have been out, i am still amazed when i find someone who is no longer a jw.
the funny thing is, i am always amazed at how many people it is just a casual fact about their past that they don't think anything of.
the more and more i think about it, the more i realize that most people were just able to blow it off, and then there are a few of us who it actually left deep marks on us.

I was raised as JW too... left 35 years later due to the Dateline exposure on JW's and pedophile coverups.
It takes a while to fully recover from the "spiritual abuse"........especially when you have family that are still JW's.

I hate it when they make me cry!!
by Scully ini thought i was pretty much immune to any jws being able to tug at my heartstrings anymore.. mr scully and i were out shopping this morning, when someone called my name and then grabbed me and gave me a big hug.
i hadn't seen her in over 15 years.
back then, she was a teenager and i was about 10 years older than her... but we hit it off really well and mr scully and i became really good friends with her and her parents.

I totally understand....I encountered the same problem on a visit last week. I visited some JW friends (nice people) and with my son (still in the JWs)...
It hurts like hell.

i keep all my old copies of gay times and attitude (gay mag) and i do a swap... i use the "i'll read about your lifestyle if you read about mine!

My story
by FreeGirl2006 ini was raised "in the faith" for most of my life.
my mother married an elder when i was 1 1/2 years old.
he came from a family of pedophiles (also jw's) and i was a pet project.

Your "life story" must have been quite difficult to type. I couldn't imagine going thru all the things you have endured.
Shame on the JW's for not showing the true Christian love you needed all thru your life!!!
I could feel a lot of pain with your words and I am truly sorry for that pain that didn't have to happen. It's bad enough to have physical illness, and then be sexually assualted then the spiritual abuse on top of it all....Shame on them again!!!
