  Newbie and What It's Like Still Being Connected

  just signed up though i've being browsing posts for a long time.

  i was raised a witness but left when i was in my early thirties.

  just faded away (hence the "lordfader").

  Me and my hubby have been fading for a year.

  We were both raised as JW's and lived it for 30 years....

  We don't live near any relatives, but we have to act like we are still going and doing all the JW stuff, cause we know they will shun us if we are not doing anything. I feel like I am a "double agent"....but we know the WTBS lies to protect themselves and that was apparent when reading COC and ISOCF....

  So for me, I live in fear.

  I understand the way you feel........they are happy in their denial....maybe their "rose colored glasses" will crack one day.

  My rose colored glasses were cracked when I saw that Dateline episode 2 years ago about the Pedophile problem in the WTBS. I couldn't stand the hypocrisy!!! The UN issue of their spiritual adultery for 10 years also was pure hypocrisy.

  I think there are a lot more fader's than you think, and in fact they may be attending your KH as well....They are acting the part because they know their family will "shun" them....and for now, they can't take that stress.

  I wish I could say something to make you feel better....just hang in there...maybe meet with some from the board in your area...That bolsters your feeling what you are doing is right.

  in the apostle john's day, a variety of religious sects appeared in christian congregations called the gnostics.. many of these gnostics thought that matter and flesh were bad and anything 'spirit' was good, so they believed.

  that jesus couldn't have been flesh and blood.

  so, john condemned them , in his letters, as the "antichrist" because.

  Metatron this is a very interesting topic. I am really enjoying all the responses you are getting...

  I have to agree with you. I was raised a JW and lived it for 30 years. The life of Jesus was put to the side unless you count the Memorial talk and the 3 times we studied the Greatest Man that Ever Lived....We occasionally got a talk about things we should or should not be doing. In that talk we were asked: "What would Jesus do?" ... hmmmmmmm... Would Jesus build an organization that was is worth billions??? ...... the answer is "NO"

  ...in all those years there was only 1 circuit overseer that paid any attention to Jesus. In fact, during his visits we were encouraged all the time to talk about Jesus. I often wonder if this circuit overseer is still an active JW or fading....

  I am so sorry you are sad and upset that the elders only decide to pay attention to you because of hearing about you and your boyfriend.

  If you choose to meet with them, maybe you should remind them that they have neglected you and that you still love Jehovah. Then you should share these scriptures with them from your Bible and read it out loud to them:

  Romans 14: 10-12 "But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you also look down on your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgement seat of God. (11) for it is written: "'As I live, says Jehovah, to me every knee will bend down, and every tongue will make open acknowledgement to God'". 12 So, then each of us will render an account for himself to God.

  I hope all goes well for you...and I am glad you have a boyfriend that loves you and gives you peace in your life.

  A womans tears

  this is really for the guys, but i know the woman here will have some great insights for us stupid men so i hope y-all will offer up your best.. when the woman i am with starts to tear up or cry i feel totally helpless and useless.

  this is one of the most dreaded situations i as a man can ever find myself in.

  my older brother, the retired police chief, would get angry if a woman started to cry when he was writing her a ticket, he felt it was an act.

  Maverick: I am sooo glad you posted this topic.

  First of all......I am not someone to cry.............it will be the "last thing I do"....Thanks to my uncaring father who treated us girls like we were in "boot camp" and never once complimented us on anything!!! When we got unrightly punished we would "try to cry"...He would say: "Stop it or I will give you something to cry about"...

  Thus, I could never cry. Instead, I got MAD.

  I think getting mad is a worse way of expressing feelings. There is a reason we cry: to get rid of toxins in our bodies or negative feelings. Granted there are some women that use it as a "tool".....and that is wrong.....

  In my relationship with my husband, I get mad....he RARELY sees me cry...I cry only when I am so upset and feel he doesn't "hear me".

  Then he says: I would rather you cry, I can deal with the tears.

  We have only been married 4 years....so I have had to tell him why I can't cry right away......I have to hold all my pain and fear inside of me because of my FATHER. Now I know I am not living with my father, but for 21 years I had to live that way. Then the next 20 years I had a cheating husband who again abused my emotional state.

  When I do cry.........and that is still rare because of my FATHER........I just want to be held and told I am loved....and things will be "ok"...

  I fully understand your "fear" of posting....I have been fading for a year now, me and hubby. I live in "fear" if my family finds out they will "shun" me....
