i had to tell my parents about all of this and i lived through hell in the days leading up to my committee meeting.
but he was married, and i was friends with his wife and a he was ministerial servant and no way was i going to go down that road!

Me and my hubby are fading so I can't reveal too much on this forum.
I was raised as a JW as well as my hubby.........so we "understand" where you are coming from.

amy was discharged on tuesday late afternoon and she's doing great.
when she was discharged we were still waiting for the anti-seizure meds to be completely out of her system, which was really the only thing that was keeping her in the hospital.

i love weddings cause, "love is in the air", and you can ask any woman to dance and not get shut down.
when i went to vegas and we hit all the night clubs you could see all the couples sitting there around the dance floor, the women bobbing up and down off their seats and their guys sunk down with their butts glued to the chair.
even though i am not the best dancer, being one of those men willing to "shake that thing" i had a great time.
I love to dance!!!!!!!!!! Give me a couple of and I am ready for some dancing!!!!!!!
..and it wasnt as bad as i thought it would be, but it wasnt great either.
i wouldve normally avoided going to anything dub related, but my best friend had her babyshower on sat.
night and invited practically everyone i know, so i had to go.

Although I don't live near any of my JW family......I had a recent family reunion, and they met my new hubby (also fading like me). Before we went I asked him to not mention anything that we learned, as it had been 5 years since I had seen any of them. Well he blabbed a few things and 2 months later I got a Nazi hitler interrogation from one of them and I didn't even say anything to her!!!
Since then, I had to scramble with the other jw family members and "lie" like you. I know all too well, if I say I am doing nothing the 20 questions will come and possibly be shunned like the one sister is doing to me (she thinks she is GOD)....
I feel bad about the "lying thing too"...........But I am at a point in my life that I don't think I can handle any more stress!!! It is hard enough to find out that for 36 years you have been in a "cult"....
Hang in there and find people that "feel" the same way you do..........and keep posting her for support (that's what this board is for).

calling all parents who raised children according to borg guidelines or anyone who was raised that way him- or her-self and, thus, is aware of the damage often thereby done.... i was raised as a 4th generation jw, drew away at least a decade ago, and am now the mother of a wonderful 3 year old girl.
i am looking for some words of wisdom to keep in mind as i do my best to raise her in a sane and loving manner.. any ideas on positive things to keep in mind?
and what about negative things to watch out for (you know, those nasty things we don't even realize are still part of our psyche until they jump out and scream "boo!")?.
I was raised as a JW.
I raised 2 that are very mature, hard working, and well thought of individuals. I was a JW at that time. (fading now)
I believe that consistency is number 1 in raising kids (both husband and wife should be consistent together, kids see thru disharmony).
Of course, love your kids!!!
Spend quality time with them.........
Be proud of them, no matter how great or small their accomplishments are. If they are commended, they will learn to grow and have self confidence. They won't be afraid to explore and learn their "great potential".
Show them how to take care of themselves.....teach them "lifeskills".........
Show them respect, and they will show you respect as well.

early this morning i put out three signs advertising the jw exposure seminar that will take place in tewksbury ma this friday.
i placed them strategically on the approach routes to two different kingdom halls.
when i checked them later in the day, two of them were gone and a new real estate sign was placed right in front of the third.

I was raised a JW and currently fading, both me and my JW husband are fading after we found out some hypocrisy going on within this organization.
Reading your experience, I have noticed some "red flags"........issues surrounding the way "your" children would be raised. Think about it: that is way to controversial!!! Children need "consistency from both parents"...........
Please listen to these "red flags" before you proceed or if you choose to proceed....Also the thread that Lady Lee has advised you to read is highly suggested.
