As far as blood goes, the watcthower will remain firm on blood transfusions. They may not have a talk anymore but they still have Hospital Liaison Committees which remain very active and really have become the experts for the blood issue. They give presentations to doctors at hosptials about the blood stand and what alternative care is acceptable. In my area there is an HLC meeting this weekend. Blood is still very important, it is just handled now by and handful of elders in the area.

I don't think they will change their stance on apostates. Just my opinion but they have control of it now anyway. There is not some massive outflow of JWs due to apostacy. They lose more to being disfellowshipped for alcohol and sex than they ever do to apostacy. I don't really read into that article other than it was another boring watchtower study to have to sit through. Most JWs will not listen to apostates and that is the way they like it.

the rank and file is now in a strange situation.. it is clear that the jw leadership is in for a huge change.

the type / anti type change makes clear that they make a u-turn.. it's clear that with this changes the current doctrine are temporary.

There are a lot of predictions made on here, sometimes right sometimes wrong. The only predictions that NEVER happen are the ones that predict some negative outcome for the organization. The JWs do not get confused or worry about the changes, they LOVE them. They don't know what the previous doctrines were so the changes do not matter to them at all. With their new language app and jw tv they are going to look like a fine oiled very loving religion. That will bring in new people as well as reinforce it to the current JWs. Lets be realistic they went through the 1975 debacle and are now thriving, they glossed over the generaton that saw 1914 not passing away with just a hiccup. They really could change a lot without any long term damage. Very few JWs really know their organization history, and if they do they staunchly defend it. The organization is going to continue to grow, no fleecing of money, no JWs questioning anything. The way I see it they have everything wrapped up at least until 2034. When that doesn't work out they will have planned for it and came up with something new. By then 1975 and the old generation teachings will be forgotten. A new religion will be in full force and churning on to the 22nd century.

sir82 there is no connection. no slap in the face, no nothing. A lot of delusion on this board because of inner desires of wanting the organization to fall a part. There is no demise, there is no coming mass exodus, if anything they will grow.

It has nothing to do with apostates, we aren't as important as we would like to think we are. It's just a redirect away from the 100 year anniversary. They acknowledged it, had a few talks and then bam, here is our new tv studio. 100 years of nothing happening is completely forgotten. In the future it will be a great gift from god with all the content JWs will receive. Marketing brilliance is what it is.

handing out business cards at the door with www.jw.org on it.. all talks will be scripted for you (or is that happening already).

They could eliminate the bookstudy some years ago because most of those were in homes, no donations being made. Going from two day to one day circuit assemblies works because they assess a per publisher cost to every circuit already anyway. They will just continue to assess this cost to the circuits. I will be surprised if the 3 day regional conventions go to two only because these are cash cows for the organization. I have worked in the accounting departments at disctrict conventions for many years and a convention of 7000 in attendance pulls in nearly 100,000 dollars. Adjust for the economic climate of the location of the convention. Hence you never hear an accounts report at a district, now regional convention. Making these conventions larger eliminates the cost of renting facilities while still having the same amount of publishers to donate.

i cannot wrap my mind around the fact that there is jw tv.

being a born in and living most of my life hearing how tv evangelism is wrong and lazy preaching yet seeing this unfold solidifies this religion as a cult!.

i remember back when i began my fade a few years ago i told my brother during an argument how this religion is just like any other religion in that its bull.

I absolutely agree they do tricks to keep the numbers up. They allow 30 hour auxiliary pioneering now when it was sixty just 15 years ago. 90 hours down to 70 for regular pioneers. 15 minutes per month can be reported for field service allowing those people to be counted as publishers. But the ONLY number that actually matters is their cash number, and as of now they are flush with it. Branding and dumbing things down has worked very well. When there is a doctrinal change, JWs don't even know what the old light was so the new light doesn't matter to them at all. I think they have done a fantastic rebranding job of themselves and as of now have secured their finances. Doctrine being right or wrong is meaningless even to die hards. The org is around to stay for long after any of us.

here's my prediction; the gov body giving regular talks will come across as crazy ass idiots.

this will strengthen the opposition and give something to refer too that is concrete evidence of crazy town in the jw headquarters.

there will be screen captures and clips that will be used all the time on youtube accounts to show the ttatt.

Outlaw I couldn't agree more. The org is just beginning it's change and the JWs love it all. They made a billion dollars on sales of their buildings and it has been estimated that due to free labor that the new headquarters only costs 11.5 million. The JWs love it all and really don't care at all about 100 years of invisible rule or doctrine changes. The org will be around for longer than any of us will be alive. There is no sky falling or organization demise, in fact they have massive cash. Sorry to burst anyone's bubble.
