Yes money buys happiness. That's my 2 cents...and since it's worth 2 cents and I just gave it to you, you are now happier.

Does money buy happiness and a longer life? You decide...
by Brock Talon ini poured over time magazine's sep 8-15 2014 edition article "who we are" and put together this spreadsheet on the results from their poll.
i found the statistics quite fascinating.. most people would say that "money doesn't buy happiness", but this poll seems to me to indicate the exact opposite of that.
it also correlates education levels with higher earning that result in that happiness.

Preterism
by Chris Tann inwhen i started to do my research concerning ttatt, i started to see the scriptures in a different light.
one thing i noticed is that when the epistles talk about the last days, christs presence, the ressurection to heaven; the writers were speaking specifically of their time, not some two thousand years later.
even when jesus speaks of his presence and the kingdom being established, he was talking to his disciples of that time and what they were soon to expect.

I only came to that assumption by what you posted. Your post indicated that's how you felt with no information to indicate otherwise. If you live a fulfilled lifestyle that is fantastic. As I said you are certainly not the first person to make that statement. As far as proof reading, my posts are usually a victim of the auto correct feature on my iPhone.

Why is it that you believe living your life if it doesn't revolve around some form of belief system can only be what you suggest? I must have heard 100 JWs so that in my lifetime. If that's all you know what to do other than pursue religion, I'll be happy to give some suggestions.
1. Pursue the work you love..too many of use get up dreading our jobs, go after what you love.
2. Go to a University if you have not already done so.
3. Learn a new language
4. Pursue learning to draw/paint
5. Learn to play a musical instrument
6. Read the top 100 books of a particular topic that interests you.
7. Learn to invest
8. Travel
9. Discover your biggest weaknesses and work on fixing them
10. Meet people of different lifestyles and learn about them, do not judge them
11. Volunteer in charity work
12. Learn to fix a car
13. Challenge your own physical conditioning
14. Learn to cook
There's a good start, no drinking, partying, cussing, or tattoos involved. You can shave everyday with any of these suggestions.

One Day assembly in Arizona- $17,000 !!
by AndDontCallMeShirley ini heard from a reliable source that a one-day assembly in arizona last weekend had a "cost" to the publishers of $17,000.. predictably, the elders were nice enough to obligate the attendees to a $6,000 donation to wt before the assembly "costs" (i.e.
"rent/extortion) were even met.
$11,000 rent plus $6000 in extra "donations".

This goes back to there is a per publisher cost added to the overall cost of the assembly. The circuit overseer is told what that is depending on the area of the country who relays this information to the assembly overseer. They get all the total expenditures of the actual assembly plus this per publisher cost and add it together and then read it to the audience.

Implications of Dropping "Types/Anti-Types"
by Antioch ini've seen this part of the agm folded in with other topics and poked around, but no really critical discussion of the implications.. .
the hermenuetics of the type/anti-type practice was a big deal to me in realizing the tatt.
i searched high and low for a rational basis for concluding that god was communicating in a type/anti-type format that wasn't special pleading and circular.

@quarterback it really is a smart move I believe. Then JWs can claim that they no longer guess and ONLY go by what what is written in the bible. As we know JWs very easily disregard their past and will do the same about all the speculation they have done. They'll lose some JWs along the way but many more will become JWs after whatever dust this may cause settles.

GB bitch-slap all apostates with TV.JW.ORG
by gopher123 inwith the launch of tv.jw.org, doesn't this mean that the apostates have won the battles, but finally lost the war?
ezekiel 38 states that in the time of the end, god's people would be prospering with "silver & gold.".
"kiss da rings" bitch!!!.

Simon is right, there is NO WAR. If you are living in a world where you think you are at war with the organization, do yourself a favor and STOP. The organization has 8 million followers, pays no taxes, and gets free money. YOU CAN'T STOP THAT. Look at catholocism, pedophilia was and probably is rampant and it has been made clear the higher ups covered it up for years, yet catholocism is still alive and well. This forum and apostates should just be here to help people leaving and those that have left. There is no war to be won, the organization is not going anywhere. The organization is going to be able to hang their hats on this web site for years to come. JWs are just now starting to wear jw.org pins around to meetings, on the platform and so on. The fever is actually just catching on. The org has tons of videos and things to put up that will keep the fever alive for a very long time. You only lost a war or got slapped in the face if you truly believe you are in some sort of battle with the organization. A JW will only listen to you when they question things themselves first, not any of us sneaking in some information to them.

How to tell how effective JW.TV will be
by bohm inhere is a simple and obvious way to tell how effective jw.tv is going to be:.
in the past, how effective has religious tv been for you?
has watching religious tv made by moonies, evangelists, mormons or scientologists made you seriously reflect on spirituality?

Only a slap in the face to apostates who believe the organization is dying. It's thriving and will keep going long past any of us are alive. Realizing that it really means nothing except keeping JWs excited.

I think the tv is already effective. It's not about conversions, it's not about donations. It's about the organization advancing due to jehovahs blessing and convincing the current jws of that. Someone already posted his but the great trib being right around the corner has lost its appeal for now. They have realized that changing things and introducing new things creates the same buzz and excitement as predicting a year for the end. the tv has already worked. They will just keep introducing new things and changes as long as it creates excitement. Right now they have JWs in the Palms of their hands.
