  This reminds me of the "bum witnesses" fever this board had last year with a comment taken completely out of context. tomorrow I'll be interested to see just how Morris talked about parents and their kids leaving and see if it's as blunt as some think it is.

  this so called test of faith may be that the wt is going bust.

  let's face it, for a while now we have seen the wt trying to scrimp and save as much as possible such as .

  at the corporate meeting david splane discusses the use and misuse of types/antitypes.. the main qualifier of a type is that an account must be represented in the scriptures as a. type of some future event.. he quoted schroeder who said if an account isnt explained in the scriptures as a type than you.

  shouldnt use the event as a type.. splane summed up his talk by saying if the bible is silent - we must be silent.. but they go right on celebrating the 100 years from 1914 which was determined by improperly.

  going beyond anything written in the bible about nebuchadnezzars tree dream.. the bible specifically refers to the immense tree as representing nebuchadnezzar.. daniel explained it and that should be the end of the matter.. .

  @startrekangel, JWS eventually will start saying that in Noah's day God limited their time to 120 years and apply it to themselves. 1914 + 120 gives you 2034.

  They have already referenced this as an option in the 12/15/2003 watchtower here in paragraph 6,7.

  I find it funny that ex witnesses get more worked up and excited about these things prior to them happening than active witnesses. They always think some hammer is gonna drop and then the organization is going to dissolve. It's like JWs always thinking their is going to be an announcement that the great tribulation has started at every major event. No one ever gets what they want.

  I grew up watching star trek the next generation but became more interested in deep space 9. Voyager got boring and I never watched enterprise. Sorry about favorite episodes, I don't really remember them. Start at episode 1, the beauty of netflix.

  How many lawsuits can the WTBTS absorb?

  it seems like the society has been desperately seeking ways to cut costs and boost reviniew (jw.org, kingdom hall programs, etc) over the past four or five years.

  is this because donations are actually down?

  or have they been preparing themselves for these lawsuits?

  Well the real question is not how many lawsuits can they absorb but how many would they have to pay. So far these headlines are just headlines, they very well could end up winning in the appeals and pay nothing.
