Remembrance Day:
by Englishman inevery year, on the nearest sunday to november 11, silence is observed nationally to honour the dead of 2 world wars.
the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month is how it's recalled.

We have poppies here too Simon-and even though I personally do not have any veterans in the family, I always buy a few. I am so sentimental that I hug the vet selling them and tell him "Thank you" for fighting for our country. Both of us end up all teary eyed, but I think it is so important that these folks know that they are appreciated!

"I know I'm a man that knows how to take care of a woman."
It's glaringly obvious to me that the only way you may possibly be able to "take care" of a woman is in bed. If you really were able to take care of a woman, you would not be contemplating "trading up" to the new and hot-off-the-assembly-line JW model without even a hint to your current lover. I would venture a guess that she has much more of herself involved (i.e. her heart) than you seem too (i.e. your dick). I think this thread and you are disgusting, but for what it is worth as a non-JW married to a reinstating dub,
I vote WORDLY

Phantom, that is not at all what this thread is about. JT echos the desire of many who truly love and care for a JW, or anyone who is completely brain washed by a cult. Although knowledge is wisdom, no amount of scriptural or doctrinal knowledge on a non-JW's part will work.
This fable comes to mind, and I am certain many here know it: One day the Mighty Wind proposed a challenge to his brother the Sun. "You see that man walking down there with his coat so tightly wrapped around him? Let us see which one of us can get his coat off the fastest!" Brother Sun accepted the challenge, and proceeded to watch with keen interest as the Mighty Wind blew and blew his biggest and stongest breaths at the man. But, the man drew his coat tighter and tighter around him in response, leaning hard against the merciless wind.
The Sun laughing, said "Now it is my turn dear brother!" The Sun came out slowly, burning brighter and brighter until he reached full radiance. The man, looking up and around at the sudden change in weather, smiled and simply removed his coat.

From my own very recent personal experience with my husband going back (getting reinstated after being da'd for 10 yrs) EVERYTHING that storm has said IS TRUE and IS HAPPENING just as he said. We are working on our marriage, but it is very very difficult. He is not keeping me from "celebrating" any of the holidays or birthdays, but his "non-participation" after 5 years of celebrating all together is absolutely disheartening. I am going through this for the first time this holiday season. He will not even sign christmas cards much less anything else. I think he will be going down to visit his JW family while my son and I "celebrate" without him. The TRAGEDIES that this religion causes are monstrous!!!

Derek, I am unabashedly moved by your extremely articulate, thoughful and thought provoking missive. It makes me think of the apostle's letters to the young churches in the New Testament. With that image in your mind, remember that a letter can be a very powerful thing! It can in fact change history-our family history. I agree with J that there must be some "other" way to reach him, but when you are dealing with a person who has a completely different world view than your own, it is difficult to know how to even attempt such a thing. I try often to reach my JW husband, but end up spewing too much of my own anger and hurt, and at the exact moment that occurs, I know he stops listening, and any credibility or truth in my arguement vanishes. Like the Father and the Prodigal Son, your arms are open wide waiting, watching and hoping with a heart full of unconditional love. I pray that you will courageously maintain this Godly attitude and example for your brother and the rest of your family.

I'm a non-JW who is married to a cradle JW who was DA'd for the last 10 yrs and has now within the last year decided to reinstate . So...I feel like I am "married to da mob", because you simply cannot in any way be married to a JW without having "it" permeate your lives I am finding out. My avitar is my sweet purebred German Shepherd Dog, "Riessa" which means relaxed in Russian.
