forgive me for indulging in a goodbye but it would feel wrong not to,.

i hope the discussions and atmosphere here do not change for it is a bubbling brew of doubt, bravery and sincere hunger for answers.

these are healthy ingrediants for humans and especially for a jehovah's witness.. this forum offers not just the ability to ask without consequence, but it also offers the means to be real.

You bet ..subconscious thought, gambler's or hunter's instinct, intuition ...a sense by any other rose . It exists ..better believe it. I can't define or explain it . It has helped me time and again when betting the horses or dogs. Both when I'm betting wrong as well as when I've picked right.

i've been given permission to post news of our friend.. kate hasn't been very well.

i think much of it has been a delayed reaction to her df'ing, the general fallout when leaving the wtbs and family issues.. i just wanted to give you guys the heads up and give you a chance to show how much we care about her.. thanks for listening..

Being a Witness results in selfish and self centered people!

i have noticed that many witnesses are very self centered and selfish people as a result of "leaving everything in god's hands to correct".

what i mean is, because "the kingdom will fix poverty, the homeless, poor, underpriveleged, etc...." it means they can just pass by those in need, or fulfill their natural human desire to help (if they have it) by just giving literature!.

so, just preach to those in need, and then you can feel good and smug about yourself!.

A housekeeper working for a lady who was well-off (both J'Ws) began going cuckoo. She was young and something went wrong with her mind. Days had passed and I had just come into the congregation ( was studying the first book then). The elder's did nothing for her nor did the lady she was working for. I knew quite a few doctors who were friends and called up one who was the CMO in a govt. hospital. He immediately asked me to get her over and had her diagnosed and treated. She was sent away to her home town in the company of her brothers (she was a live in maid) in three days. The incident left me wondering if these were really god fearing people why the apathy when one of their own was in dire need of psyciatric treatment. I was practically an outsider then. I could feel her helplessness yet these people couldn't. One of the elder's was asked to go to the hospital and his response was " what wil I do there?" How far l these goats are willing to go with the " wait on J ", formula, is astoundingly unfathomable.

Loyalty to Org Over Everything Else Part 2

a few months ago i posted about the dilemna i was facing with my girlfriend and getting reinstated.

a little under a year ago, both of us were disfellowshipped for sexual immorality.

while it was difficult, we promised to stick together through it, work our way toward marraige, and eventually return.

Am sorry for your plight. Here's how I see it. I'm a worldly guy and came into the fold briefly. She may, at the moment genuinely feel, she loves you and would "wait" for you. If this was not the borg. I would say say she's giving you the raspberry. But...how long before the elders brainwash her completely into forgetting you? She has already been brainwashed into going back -turning her back on her one love. If she is in the pinup class it won't be long until some elder encourages her to accept another arrow from cupid. It is my understanding that you guys did not discuss the borg being a false prophet. If she has been praying for reinstatement and it has happened...good luck with trying to convince her otherwise. Her prayers have been answered.

I want to digress a bit to make a point. A gentleman in a congregation, was without a job for the last 3 years as he got laid off during this eco. downturn. He prayed for three years and "waited on J" and now bingo! four weeks ago, he got a govt. job with excellent benefits. Do you think this guy will ever turn his back on the org. Not even if you hit him with the most convincing truth about the borgs doings.

Here's my five cents. You have two choices. You could get reinstated too- once in - try and make her see the real truth about this org. and hopefully both of you will be out. The Q is How long is that going to take? Another Q ? will she ever be convinced?

Its a gamble one way or another.

If it were me I would take BU2B's option.

No Blood windshield stickers

i just walked back from getting my mail and happen to walk right by an automobile that belongs to the jw's who live in the end of my building.

the sticker in the low left of the windshield caught my attention so i stopped to read it.

it was a sticker that said......advanced medical directive.....no blood!

As far as I know they are supposed to keep it in their wallets or the glove compt. with their registration and insurance papers. This must some over zealous zombie who wants to be known by everyone that he is a JW. Bearing Witness so as to speak.

tell me what acheivements have been acheived that are different than what are proclaimed by protestant religions .in the 100 years of christs reign according to jehovahs witnesses , is their anything that stands out as jehovahs witnesses have more direction ?

if you look at their history , google , you will see they are nowwhere near being spokespersons for god .. smiddy.

IMO all they have done is change a few catholic doctrines-by extention protestant ones too depending on which sect.- adopted their modus operandi from the dark ages ,and some of their authoritarian literature- effectively shoving old wine in a new bhisti ( leather bag used to carry water by natives in British India) and Gunga Din's ( poem by Rudyard Kipling) to tout their bilge-water from door-to-door.

What is the Watchtower's(R) Objective with the APATHY TROLLEY(CART)?

if the wbt$ is losing money and drones then why so much apathy surrounding the trolley/cart?.

why are they not being more pro-active with this 'urgent, never to be repeated work(tm)?'.

The WBTS realizes the poor response in door-to-door work is overwhelming. Their constant touting of its importance is reason enough to believe that they aren't getting the desired number of hours from the rank and file. Most of the hours are cooked up by regular,auxillary,special poineers and the elders,co's do's etc. Rank and file -if you ask me - average about 2-3 hours only. This could be one way to beef uptheir stats. All they want to do is look good on paper. To impress the R&F that this is J's organization.And their continued bullshit of how the work is being speeded up ithe last days.

Trollies or carts help R&F to report 8-10 minium per month.

i open and there, like an apparation, stand two of j smith's disciples -smart looking , well dressed ( they used to wear black ties only a few years ago) clean cut.. i inform them that i'm an ex-j witness and they are quiet for a moment.

I inform them that I'm an ex-J Witness and they are quiet for a moment. Then their faces light up and they ask if I know anything about them. I tell them I had read the book of Mormon about 7 years ago and the history of their topdog JS too. And I that had thrown the BOM into the trash. They asked why. " Because all four religions, Judaism; Christianity; Islam and Mormonism come from the same source. And the source is flawed.

"Do you ever pray sir?"

" Yes- that JW's and Mormons and other religious sects never come knocking at my door - but so far my prayers haven't been answered".

They chuckle a bit

" Seriously no. I don't believe in religion ."

" Do you believe that Jesus died for us and was resurrected after 3 days?"

" Is there any scientific proof of his being resurrected?"

Silence for a bit

" And if he died for man then everything was fulfilled in him? Doesn't the bible say that? Why the need for Mohammed 600 years later and JS 1800 years after? At least Mohammed claims lineage to Abhraham through Abe's son Ismael from his slave Hagar. Does JS have any family claim to the patriarch ?" And why would the only prophet...some call him god....die ,be resurrected and say everything was fulfilled in him ,only to have god send JS later? Why didn't he say what JS would say 1800 years earlier.And he doesn't mention any prophet appearing on earth after him. You would think it would have crossed his mind to mention future prophets like JS and Mohammed? None of the books in the greek scriptures mention JS or Mohammed anyone like them . Have you guys really read up on JS ?

Silence for a moment .

" Actually JS does say that christ is the son of god blah, blah blah.."

" My Q was why didn't J say what JS would later?"

They look at each other briefly and get off the topic.

" How long were you a JW?"

They laugh a bit.

" I have a question for you"

"Please go ahead"

" Do you know that both, you guys and the JW's are known as cults outside your circles?"

" Yes I know that some people call us a cult."

" Ever wondered why?"

" Because they don't know us I'm sure if they get to know us they will realize we are different."

" Trust me you are different. That's the standard belief of all cults. Have you ever read any books on how to recognize a cult?"

"No"

" Here's my recommendation. There is a book by Steve Hasan on how to recognize a cult or any cult . Please read it ."

"Oh umn ok"

Then they try offering me a little well made card to some meeeting on the 6th of July-I politely decline. They offer me another one giving me their address etc.

I inform them that I will never be interested in what they have to say but " in order to oblige you guys I will take your card for one reason only- to inquire whether you have read Steve Hasan's book".

They say they will try and get the book.

" Go online you will find it"

They shake and then move on to my neighbor's door.

The difference between these guys and the JW's is that they seem less dogmatic in their acceptance of ouside readings and are willing to read what JW's would dub as "apostate" lit.

On the other hand are they?
