  I hear you! My son was only behind the wheel twice in the school driver's ed. class when he announced to me "Can I drive to work, I have had behind the wheel at school and did just fine!" Just fine?!! No one can learn to drive, especially teenagers who seem to think that looking cool while driving is more important than checking in your rear view mirror before changing lanes!!! ......"gee, Mom, guess I forgot to look, and put on my blinker....." I think that mistake just took about a year off my life!

  HA! I am rejoicing....I am currently teaching my third child to drive, and I am hoping that by the time the fourth gets around to it this self-parking car will be a reality. Teaching your child to drive ranks up there with one of the most stressful events in a mother's life, I think.

  really weird.....this posted before i even i clicked on "submit post"....oh well..... this is the last night to register for the national do-not-call list..... http://www.donotcall.gov/register/reg.aspx.

  if anyone is getting calls like i am from telemarketers almost every day....then you have a few more hours to register.

  He is a cutie!.....as long as I don't have to touch him.

  I watched a program on TV about people who had rats as pets...and apparently they make very good ones. I must admit that I could never have a rat as a pet though.....I still have visions of mice running around my first house, invading my kitchen, running around inside the ceiling, and leaving little presents behind for me to clean up. And, rats are just very large mice to me.

  But, Chewie does have the sweetest little whiskers there, doesn't he?

  just wanted to say i'm so sorry for not welcoming all the new ones, not responding yet to all the wonderful replies to my posts, not saying happy birthday to everyone, and not being a good friend to those in need.

  i've been sick, as well as preoccupied.

  there's a major rant building up in me....which i will append to this post; aren't you all lucky.. i feel like such a frigging loser.. let me just say: it's no one's fault that i got sick and had to start my life over, esp.

  To echo the sentiments of others here, you are a very intelligent and caring person, Rosemarie. Hang in there. It sounds like your co-worker is on your side and you have someone at work to let off steam to. Try not to let your boss see that her words upset you, maybe she will stop being such a bully if she knows that it is having no affect. Bullies suck....and when those bullies are grown men and women, they suck even more.

  I lived two doors away from a home where there was a murder suicide. The husband shot his wife at the kitchen table, then shot himself, while their four small children were in the house. They found them there dead in the kitchen, it was so very sad. One of the four children went to kindergarten with my son. After the tragedy, the children were sent to live with the mother's sister and her family, and the house was empty for years. The father was very attentive to his children, and could be seen around the neighborhood carrying the kids on his shoulders. The mom was very active in the local elementary school, and even brought me a cake when we first moved in the neighborhood. It just goes to show you that you never know what goes on behind closed doors....until the worse happens.

  HI!

  OH MY GOD, you have my sympathies, Rosemarie! Dealing with the public in any job you always get a WIDE variety of people....but it seems like you have your fair share of loonies in the fruit punch business.

  My daughter works for the government and handles complaint calls from anyone who has a problem with the health services in their county. She has had crazy and bizarre calls ranging from senile senior citizens calling from nursing homes complaining about naked people running in the halls.....to patients from the psyh. ward of the hospital telling her that they were being tortured by the staff......just to name a few....and regardless of the obvious hallucinations, all have to be recorded and followed up on....I am glad that I don't have THAT job!

  Hang in there, Rosemarie.....it could be worse....you could have MY job!
