controversy over blood management and blood transfusionsgovernments manage potential conflicts of interest all the time, but they seldom concern the very stuff running through our veins.the national blood authority's expert panel on blood transfusions includes one member who doesn't believe in blood transfusions at all.moreover, shannon farmer has a commercial interest in alternatives to blood transfusions.

flipping thru the pages of the april 15 wt study edition, i bumped into something that strikes me as odd.
not that the wt never publishes odd things, but usually such comes in the form of misapplied scripture or hidden second meanings.
i've never paid attention before but to me this is the first time i see a whole paragraph with no bible verses to read.. in the article tiled "always trust in jehovah!
OUTLAW reported what Tacitus wrote and in which this was said: Accordingly first those were arrested who confessed they were Christians; next on their information, a vast multitude were convicted, not so much on the charge of burning the city, as of "hating the human race."
It means that many so-called Christians betrayed their "spiritual brothers and sisters" (as the WBTS calls them in par 1). This betrayal was not mentioned in the paragraph. Also, these Christians were punished for what they presumably had done. I do not support the treatment given to these Christians but as Jesus warned: “Put your sword back in its place! For all who take hold of the sword will die by the sword."
If Tacitus was correct, you should wonder if these people who are referred to as Christians were truly Christians, in the sense that the actually acted as Jesus would. I do not recognize Jesus in the acts of these Christians. Further, if many of them were betrayed by their own "spiritual" brothers and sisters, one can truly wonder how much we should trust our spiritual brothers and sisters.
As usual, the WT does not show sources or references. Further, I do not understand the switch from slaughtering Christians to Paul being concerned if Christians come to his aid.....most peculiar.
Par. 3 says: Yes, the Lord Jesus provided the power Paul needed.
Then it is most peculiar that the entire article is about trusting Jehovah. How big a contrast.......
near the top of page 15 in the april 15, 2015 watchtower shows a photo of the malawi congress party card made the center of jws being severely persecuted in malawi in the 60s, 70s and 80s.
the lie is furthered in this watchtower article is that the whole issue was over jws refusing to involve themselves in politics.
readers who want to know the whole story of what caused this persecution are invited to consider evidence in the following article presentations: .
I feel very sorry for all those poor people that suffered so much because of the JW policy. The doctrine is that a christian should not get involved in politics. What does that mean? And I do not mean the JW explanation. It there is a fight between 2 people in the street, I will try not to get "involved". This does not mean I reject the people involved or the rules of the game but it is simply not my fight and will not become part of it.I will not actively participate in the fight.
By refusing to buy a card the person actually takes a political stance: he rejects/disobeys the ruling government. The same government that demands you to pay taxes and to obey their laws. You carry a passport (or identity card or this MCP card) which is issued (and owned) by the government of that country, which is used to identify oneself as a citizen of a country. To buy that card is in my view not a means to express your political preference but a sign of obedience to the law of the government. It is not an act of worship (involvement).
It is very very sad that the organisation has abused the situation to promote their doctrines whilst endangering the lives of their members.
the court on the rule of confidentiality of penitential communications and evidentiary privilege--.. decision reads:.
"the law generally protects the confidentiality of communications with clergy like those of kendrick to the elders here.".
"if the person has a constitutional right to independence in making religious choices, the recognition of an evidentiary privilege is an apt means of protecting that autonomy.
I believe it depends now on the quality of the lawyers of Conti. The court is of course correct when they state that elder are not obliged to make a confidential conversation public. It is a bit strange (I assume the quote is accurate) that they said "had no duty to depart from Watchtower's policy of confidentiality"
I would say the elders had no duty to depart from the attorney-client privilege (if that is what it's called). In other words, there was no reason to break this specific law. It is the same with doctors and patients and attorneys and their clients.
My question would be, if all that Kendrick had done prior to molesting Conti was secret or whether his prior convictions and behaviour was already in the public domain (i.e. court records, news paper articles). If so, the elders could have shared that public information. In the end, the elders are believed to have been appointed to protect the flock, even give their lives for it.
Yes, it is going ot be a marathon, very costly as well. If I would be the lawyer for Conti, I would focus much more on the role elders are given by the organisation, and the principles in the bible because the WBTS always claim they do all as written in the bible. I would use exactly that claim to show they failed and are using (cherry picking) the secular law to hide themselves. In other words, they have shown not to be able to protect their flock as they should and for which the receive many nice privileges (i.e. tax exempt). Drop the claim they should have informed the congregation but focus on their responsibility to do all they can to protect their people / member, in particular the weak / fragile ones.
assuming you are still sitting there because of circumstances.
why do you still give/don't give talks?i ask this because i have to give talk no.
3: love and obedience bring happinessnwt p. 26 4-6 (5 min.
Good luck, and remember, obedience to the gb is the key ... :-)
this is from the last talk of the convention ......... clip 1:30 minutes longhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrej8tlyiso&feature=youtu.be.
I was under the impresion this conference was called IMITATE JESUS. Well then, Jesus was baptised at the age of 29. Fully grown up but although at 12 He already was able to discuss the scriptures, only then He decided to get baptised.
Therefore, WBTS, walk your talk and stop promoting child / infant baptism.
clip 3 minutes long.
ron and brenda sutton ................warwick 3 children
it was the missed association with family that brought them back.
Jesus died for all, enemies and friends.....
but these guys will only give their lives if they are members of the organisation. I thought this conference was about imitating Jesus.
Child got back in due to family pressure. That is why Jesus said: Mat 10:37 “Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
i know the jws believe that since jesus came, the mosaic law is null and void.. i notice many other christians seem to keep quoting the old testament.
there's even videos on the web with idiots screaming "don't take my 10 commandments" when a statue was being taken down.
even though i doubt these guys know the real 10 commandments in ex 34 (that were on the tablets), not the ones in ex 20 and would be hard pressed to tell you when was the last time they celebrated the festival of weeks or of unleavened bread.. i mean how can they scream about keeping the 10 commandment statues yet wear clothes with 2 types of fabrics?.
The LAW is no longer the judge over Christians. Jesus has been appointed judge and for that reason, Christians are free from the Law but bound by the Law of Christ, which is love.
However, one can still follow and apply the law if he/she wants to but it will not be the reason to receive eternal life. Point is as Paul reasons, if you break one element of the law, you have broken the entire law. It was impossible for humans to fulfil the law. Only Jesus could and did. As such, He freed His followers from the Law.
By the way, the OT is not synonym for the Law (which is indeed more than just the 10 commandments, I believe it holds about 600 laws). I believe that the OT has a purpose as it explains the beginning and the road that lead to Jesus. It has no real value with regard to eternal life though.
shit!
it finally happened.. years ago i speculated on this happening but can't find the posts.
anyway, this is a tactically aggressive move by wt.
Just wondering, the letter by John and hence his words in chapter 2 are written to those who have received the anointing (1 John. 2:27). Does this mean that all others are part of the antichrist because they have not received the anointing?
the new jesus book ("the way, the truth, the life"), page 92 says this:.
"once jesus has performed that healing, he uses the occasion to confirm that non-jews of faith will be favored with blessings, saying: many from east and west will come and recline at the table with abraham and isaac and jacob in the kingdom of the heavens.
what about faithless jews?
without adding any kind of exception or explanation
That is not uncommon for the society. As such, most JW's will not notice they ave changed their mind/views/doctrine again........
