A new religion??

was the ot books of the bible an attempt by the priestly class of the hebrews to build a religion.

i have discovered that some of the 10 commandments may have come from hammurabi's laws.

tithing 10% coming from the egyptians and phoenicians, the god el which is named in genesis as the supreme god came from the canaanites, several of the verses and stories in the bible taken from other cultures.

Wrap your head around this; Satan is no fool, he takes truth, and grows it with pagans...he knows this will make you step back, and doubt Gods truth.

As to the Jews, "Why did God make them his people?" If he had taken the best people to follow him, Satan would have said, "Only the beset would follow you." So God took the worst to prove people would follow him out of love." Here is what God says about the Jews, "They are the most hard headed, and hard hearted of all the people of the earth." In other words he took the worst to prove his point.

Take this time to test the WT. You have tested other religions, and know they are false. Test the WT. Read the many reasons why many have let it...this is not saying you should leave God...stay close to Jehovah...learn what makes the WT a false religion, as all the other religions are.

Why do readers of this text mark it as a test? Ask yourself this question; "Whould you put you child, or loved one above your service to God?" The story of Abraham, and his son is to make you, and me think..."What would we do? How much do we trust God?"

Isaac was Abraham's only son. Isaac was still with, and under his father. Abraham's other son was off, and on his own, not under his father.

a harvard professor is claiming a fragment of papyrus seemingly mentioning that jesus had a wife is an ancient document and not a forgery, following a series of tests.. the text is written in coptic and contains a dialogue in which jesus refers to "my wife.

"karen king, a professor at the harvard divinity school, writes in the harvard theological review that the papyrus is almost certainly a product of ancient christians and probably dates to eighth-century egypt, based on carbon dating and chemical tests on the ink.. none of the testing has produced any evidence that the fragment is a modern fabrication or forgery, prof king and her team concluded.. the fragment, which has some legible lines on the front and on the back, contains the words: jesus said to them, my wife .... she will also be my disciple.. james yardley from columbia university, and alexis hagadorn from columbia university libraries, used a technique called micro-raman spectroscopy to determine that the carbon character of the ink matched samples of other papyri that date from the first to eighth centuries ce.. malcolm choat from macquarie university examined the fragment at hds and offered an independent assessment of the handwriting.. prof king first announced the existence of the fragment in september 2012, at the international coptic congress in rome, where she dubbed it "the gospel of jesus's wife.".

"This Generation" at the meeting today

it was really quite amusing 2day at the meeting when we got to the "this generation will not pass away" subheading in the wt.

the conductor spent very little time on the section and the comments that were given didnt at all make sense really.

you can tell its not understood by the majority of the friendsand will go over there heads, i was trying not to laugh lol.

I'm hearing on this thread the same stuff I heard back in 1975 when the end did not come...The body of elders said: "As part of 'this generation,(1914) a person need not have been alive in 1914. " Everybody knew they were side stepping what they had been saying. Some 50,000 left at that time.

I have had nothing to do with the JW's since 1996...nothing. The changes I have been reading about on the forum...just blow me away. It was easer to believe before 1975 then after. Today...I don't see how any of the members can believe what they say...but I know they do.

Have You Been Invited To The Memorial?

one of my best friend's, who is an ex elder had two elders visit him at his home yesterday to invite him to the memorial.

he was cordial to them because they were'nt over the top.. so far, i have had no invites, thank god..

I do the Memorial at home each year. I drink the wine, and eat the bread as Jesus commanded all to do. It is not just for a few, it is for all who believe in him. Not taking of the wine, and bread, is a rejection of Jesus.
