  Links please - carbon dating

  hi all hope you can help .

  my hubby is studying for a science degree and tonight my dad was talking to him about carbon dating and questioning the reliability of it.

  hubby asked me why dad would be interested and i remembered seeing on here some discussions about jws discrediting carbon dating as it underminded a lot of their teachings.

  Emotional Blackmail

  it's local election voting day here in the uk so a lot of kids have got the day off from school (schools are used as polling stations).

  i have just been walking alongside the nearby canal with my daughter and met a group of two ladies, a girl and a boy in wheelchair who were walking in the opposite direction.

  the boy in the wheelchair approached me and said "would you like a leaflet?".

  i am so angry - i've been a long term lurker here and an occasional poster but i have just got to offload tonight.

  mom and i have never been 'in the truth' but my dad and 2 brothers are.

  tonight my dad told me that last night he resigned as an elder (which for me personally is great) but the reason is that because both my parents have health issues, especially mom, my dad has been given 6 months to get his act together and put some more hours in field service as he is 'not leading by example'.

  Fading?

  i have been lurking here for about 2 years now and have decided to 'come out' of lurkdom.

  a brief history - although i have never attended meetings my dad and 2 brothers are elders - mom has never been 'in the truth', dad joined when they had been married about 10 yrs.

  anyway cut to the chase - i was abused by my brothers friend - i was 10 her was 22 - and i only told my parents 2 years ago, aged 32. the whole mess is a very long story and perhaps i will take the time to tell all in the future.
