  i would appreciate knowing from someone in the know if the goofy carts and rain covers are given to the congregation by the org.

  or if the congregation has to pay the org for them.

  i am sure i read that somewhere here in my lurking days, but am not finding it at present.. if the congregation is billed for it i intend to use that as a reason for my continued refusal to donate anything from now on.. thanks in advance..

The equipment will remain the property of the congregation. Care should be taken to request only equipment that will be put to good use by publishers who have been trained in its use.   The carts, and replacement parts/repair kits/rain covers/etc, along with other public witnessing equipment, are provided to congregations at no cost as part of the standard literature order/delivery, at least here in the UK.

  I do believe that there was a 'suggested donation', which AFAIK was a relatively reasonable amount, when the Trollies where introduced, but this appears to have been dropped now.

  BUT

  it's probably a bit like your computer printer... (cost of actual printer compared to ink cartridges)
  

  The CAPITAL cost of the Carts almost pales into insignificance with the Carts RUNNING costs.
  

  Running costs? Yeah! The large scale (often sticky-back) posters that need printing

  No Munich?

  hey simon.

  you marked the nice attack with a graphic and a few words on the right hand side of the forum - i didn't think you did the same for the recent orlando attack, but i presume you decided to introduce this new box out of a mark of respect going forward following the events in nice.. therefore, i'm wondering why you have appeared not to have done the same following the munich attack?.

  sorry, my bad - i think you only last posted 14 hours ago, so you're unlikely to have had time to do it yet, sorry - the 'lastest topics' feature appears to show you posting just a few minutes ago, but that's because you started the topic and somebody else has just replied to it d'oh!

  Yeah, I know, that's kinda the point, previously Simon hasn't acknowledged any AFAIK as publicly as the Nice attack.

  But now he has and has therefore set some kind of precedent.
  

  And therefore I'm just asking what Simon's criteria is? Maybe it was because he has a connection with the town affected? relatives or ancestors? holiday? friends? maybe it was the size?

  I'm just asking, because it can be a problem - you acknowledge one, but not the other - how may that appear to people?

  So true...that is where we learned about tight pants and colored socks...

  Thought that those where from Zone Visits that TM3 made, and not the AGM??

  I suspect it is a Coordinator gone rogue - he's seen the videos about hiding and stuff and the armed military police finding them etc, maybe he's aware of some of the fuss surrounding the videos, and therefore feels the need to forewarn his congregation?

  i found a retracted medical study that is cited by the bloodless/blood management world.. i wonder when they will get around to recognizing the retraction in the blood management world.

  notice of retraction the following article from anaesthesia, ‘safety of cardiac surgery without blood transfusion: a retrospective study in jehovah’s witness patients’, by el azab sr, vrakking r, verhage [sic] g and rosseel pmj, published online in wiley online library (http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1365-2044.2009.06232.x/full) on 17 march 2010 and in volume 65, number 4, pages 348-52, has been retracted by agreement between three of the named authors (r vrakking, g verhaegh and pmj rosseel), the journal editor-in-chief, steve yentis, and blackwell publishing ltd. the retraction has been agreed following confirmation by the amphia hospital ethics committee that the study did not have ethical approval as claimed.

  I think you're missing the principle here - we're not taking about proactive medical studies (where knowingly treatment may be given or withheld to facilitate the study), but reactive medical studies (ie the study has absolutely no bearing on the treatment being given)
  
  As the former chairwoman of the Royal College of GPs, Dr Clare Gerada, said with regards to anonymous data mining: “If we had had this system 55 years ago, at almost the push of a button we could have identified the link between a medicine commonly prescribed by GPs for morning sickness (Debendox) with catastrophic birth defects a few months later (thalidomide).”
  
  I'll give you the benefit of doubt - if you had read the article I posted, had fully processed it and knew what thalidomide was/is - then you wouldn't have used Frankenstein as an example.
  
  As Dr Gerada said: "There are some things we have to do for the sake of the greater 'we'."

  It is perhaps also an example of the 'tyranny of the majority.'

  i was skimming the july 2016 wt study article and came across a paragraph indicating that, despite scriptural evidence, the governing body indeed feels that god's son now knows the exact day and hour of armageddon.

  is this 'new light'?

  The WTS explains that since Jesus became king of the Messianic Kingdom in 1914 he knew the day and the hour (and the year), years ago. I don't have access to the WT-CD but I'm sure it is a Question From Readers.
