Hey blondie!
So besides existing Wallkill and Patterson and soon to be completed Warwick, there is a Fishkill facility too?
Gotta keep up
AFAIK they're being used as 'retirement apartments' for bethelites.....
recently attended a special assembly day.. guest speaker was thomas chicky, a member of the us branch committee and the head of the us ldc (which has replaced the rbcs).. the last talk of the day is scheduled for an hour.
it was the usual boring mumbo-jumbo.
he appeared to have blasted through his hour-long outline in just about 45 minutes, so he "treated" us to informal comments on recent developments.. he commented on the new wt complex in fishkill ny.. then he dropped the bomb (well, to anyone with ears and at least 2 functioning synapses).. the following is not a word for quote, but presents the gist of his comments:.

i was not aware that these cart signs were being made and sold by essentially a private company or proprietorship.
Hey joe134cd
I remember hearing at the time that some of the building materials had been sourced directly from the manufacturer in china rather than been brought locally primarily because of the cost. Anybody else know of this happening.
Didn't you hear? They bought a mountain from China

i'd like to as the question, when will construction at warwick finish?
will it be before the 2017 agm?i'm asking because, if the construction is basically finished by then, the gb could be free to release more 'new light'.its hardly likely that they would announce big changes that might effect the willingness of their laborers to continue working for free.
so i'm sort of hoping, all the big stuff will be done by then.
Hi no-zombie
I'd like to as the question, when will construction at Warwick finish? Will it be before the 2017 AGM?
I think it was announced at the the 2016 AGM that next year's AGM, in October 2017, will include the dedication of Warwick? so I kinda guess it'll all be completed by then?..... or will it?.....
Public tours of Warwick are starting on Monday 3 April 2017.

i am going to engage on a trip to the past and share with you some of the matters that marked the beginning of the jws persecution in cuba.
you will be surprised that the pattern that was followed is very similar to what happened in other dictatorial countries.. in the cuban case, i am going to surprise you and tell you that like what happened with hitler; the wt was partially responsible for their clash and confrontation with the cuban government.
during the early 60s the revolution was fighting for survival and they were willing and ready to demolish any perceived enemy to their cause.. a prime example was their war against the catholic church that was the most influential religious entity in the country; it took the supreme leader only a few public discourses to send the vast majority of clergy packing and back to their country, in this case spain.. the jehovah’s witnesses were an insignificant minority but they over estimated their importance and displayed a belligerent attitude, it was known that this was a us based religion and an easy target to connect them with the cia.
Oh, and by the way, you really have no excuse NOT knowing about the
three page article regarding the Cuban Bethel that appeared in the 15
May 1999 edition of the Watchtower I referred to in my posting above...
But, hey, if you need reminding, which I'm sure you don't - then click here for a scan....
i was reading a book exploring he relationship between geography and religion and found the following quote starting on page 121 of chris park's sacred worlds.. park, c. c. (1994).
sacred worlds: an introduction to geography and religion.
london: routledge.. one of the most dynamic religious groups in terms of disseminating its beliefs is the jehovah’s witnesses.
oops wrong thread

Watchtower 15 May 1999, page 8
In September 1994, a printing operation was established in the Bethel Home in Havana. Once again, Jehovah’s Witnesses were able to meet openly and to witness from house to house. Later, in 1998 (December 1 to 7, 1998), the authorities permitted this visit of an international delegation of 18 Jehovah’s Witnesses, including three members of the Governing Body (Lloyd Barry, John Barr, and Gerrit Lösch).
When the delegation arrived at the José Martí airport in Havana, they were hospitably received by a contingent of public officials and a group from the Bethel Home, among them a brother who remembered the last visit to Cuba of a Governing Body member—Milton Henschel—in 1961. The brother was then 12 years old; he is now a traveling overseer.
The ban on JW's in Cuba was eased in 1994 - I think they are still using the original Bethel? or do they have a new one now?
I believe the first JW figures in modern times where published in the 1997 Year Book:
1996 Service Year
Population: 11,000,000
Ratio: 1-in-157
Average Publishers: 66,006
Congregations: 945
2015 Service Year
Population: 11,258,597
Ratio: 1-in-117
Average Publishers: 95,825
Congregations: 1,524

A native Spaniard Witness was sent from Brooklyn in 1921 to begin preaching among the Asturias miners near the city of Oviedo. Presumably this group of potential converts had been carefully identified and deliberately targeted, but we are not told why.
Oh really? We don't know why Asturia? hmmm
Yearbook 1978, page 137
In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A., at that time, there was a zealous Spanish brother named Juan Muñiz. Brother Rutherford asked him to go to Spain and, about the end of 1920 or the beginning of 1921, Brother Muñiz paid his own fare and set out for this land. He was an Asturian from the north of Spain and returned there to live with his sister. His witnessing territory? The mining communities in Asturias.

Hi Nihilistic Journey!
Just out of curiosity why wouldn't you say it's a pacifist group? I seem to recall a lot of articles celebrating how many JW went to prison rather than war. How the song in the brown book was written by a JW in a nazi camp for refusing to fight ( was it We Are Jehovah's Witnesses?)
They're conscientious objectors (regarding purely secular affairs) - they're definitely not pacifists as they believe - and support - in Armageddon which they understand will be the biggest war that the earth has ever seen.
It's the Society of Friends / Quakers who are noted as being pacifists.
an easy way to stump the delusional jws at your door is come to the door with sunglasses on holding a sign with the words in the above title, and not say a word.
the reaction will be priceless.... hopefully it will wake up those that still have some use of their thinking abilities..
