  i haven't seen this mentioned yet.

  last year in the uk, shortly after the money grab that everyone had, we had a video and letter (both probably still available from atlantis) appealing for money for the new bethel and slips were handed out etc.

  this means that most uk congregations are sending a regular donation specifically for the chelmsford build.

  Sure, but I believe this forum limits members to posting only one or two actual new threads in every 24 hours (to help stop spamming etc etc) - hence the posting onto already existing threads on the same subject

  i was hoping there might be some newly leaked pdfs for ministerial training school, school for single brothers and school for christian couples, kingdom school for elders, and bethel school.whatever else school there is.

  There’s no question whether Jehovah’s Witnesses policies direct elders to keep child abuse secret from police. They do.

  And there’s no question whether the religion’s headquarters maintains a database of alleged child sexual abusers going back decades. Or that Jehovah’s Witnesses leaders have violated court orders to hand it over.

  It’s been three years since we began investigating the global child sexual abuse cover-up inside the Jehovah’s Witnesses organization, and even though we’ve learned many key details, questions still remain.

  How many child abusers are still active around the world because the Jehovah’s Witnesses did not report them? Which congregations do they attend? And why, even in the face of lawsuits and multimillion-dollar court judgments, do leaders refuse to change their policies in any significant way?

  We’ve demonstrated our findings in text, television, radio and virtual reality stories. But we felt there was more to do because of the strong public interest that would be served by answering those questions.

  We decided to go back to our sources, people around the world who had fueled our coverage, and try to gather them in one place for a day. As an independent, nonpartisan journalism organization, we would broker a day of speakers, panels and candid discussions about ways to address the Jehovah’s Witnesses child abuse crisis.

  We chose London because the Jehovah’s Witnesses are fighting multiple lawsuits and investigations related to their child abuse policies there. The law firm Bolt Burdon Kemp – which has the largest abuse litigation department in England – currently has civil lawsuits against the Jehovah’s Witnesses and brought child abuse experts and survivors from around the U.K.

  That is quite a bit more than I would have thought.

  Building is more expensive than people think it is.
  

  Besides, the newly built roundabout entrance from the main road will have cost a fair amount.

  There's also the clean-up and landscaping costs to consider.
  

  I believe the original building alone was 70,000 square metres x £1,500 per sq metre building cost = £105 million (although it's been downsized, that figure doesn't allow for entrance roundabout and landscaping etc etc)

  Parents need to take all reasonable steps to protect their children from potential dangers [Read Proverbs 22:3]

  In the majority of cases of child sexual abuse, the perpetrator was someone the child knew and trusted

  While not becoming overly suspicious, shrewd parents are alert to the following potential dangers:

  (1) Someone singles out your child for special attention with gifts or offers free babysitting or private outings with your child

  (2) Someone is overly physical with your child, perhaps through excessive displays of affection, playful wrestling, or inappropriate tickling

  (3) A relative has unsupervised access to younger siblings, stepchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, or grandchildren

  (4) Your child has association with others in places that are beyond your vision, such as on a school bus, in the backseat of a vehicle, at sleepovers and social gatherings, in auxiliary rooms and restrooms of meeting places, and at recreational areas, such as playgrounds and swimming pools

  (5) Your child has unsupervised use of the Internet or social networks

  Use discernment and good judgment to recognize potential dangers and safeguard your children from harm (Pr 24:3)
  
  

  SAFEGUARD YOUR CHILDREN WITH GODLY WISDOM (5 min.)

  Parents have a God-given responsibility to teach their children what the Bible says about proper sexual conduct (Eph 6:4)

  Children, including little ones, deserve to learn about sex accurately from their God-fearing parents well before they are misinformed through the Internet, television, school, or peers

  Cultural background and upbringing may make it difficult to discuss sexual matters with one’s child; nevertheless, responsible Christian parents will do so (w98 2/15 8-11)

  Convey age-appropriate information to your children, not as one “talk” during their teen years, but as ongoing short discussions that gradually add to their knowledge (De 6:7)

  Parents, ask yourselves: ‘Have I trained my children regarding what are proper displays of affection, the importance of wearing modest clothing, and the need for others to respect their privacy?’

  ‘Would my children know what to do if someone tried to show them pornography, if an adult asked them to do something Jehovah says is wrong, or if someone threatened them if they refuse to keep a secret?’

  Do not frighten your children, but safeguard them by telling them what they need to know in order to recognize dangers (Ec 7:12)

  Help your children train their conscience

  Many parents have found the following material to be helpful:

  (1) The video Become Jehovah’s Friend—Protect Your Children can be used to initiate training about how a child should respond if anyone attempts to touch him or her inappropriately

  During practice sessions, Caleb and Sophia are taught to yell: “Stop doing that! I’m gonna tell on you.”

  (2) Chapter 32 of the book Learn From the Great Teacher uses terms that children can easily understand

  For example, it states: “Parts of your body are private. . . . Do not let anybody play with your sex organs.”

  (3) Refer to such articles as “Teaching Your Child About Sex,” Awake! No. 5 2016, “Talk to Your Children About Sex,” The Watchtower, November 1, 2010, and “How to Protect Your Children,” Awake! October 2007

  The OP said that the trend was to have less assemblies (not less attendance)

  This is FAKE NEWS.

  i believe the trend is to have MORE assembly venues / dates - yes they're smaller, but number-wise they're more assemblies venue and date-wise

  I await with interest how the OP backs up the claim - and as I said above, the exception is when a country holds a 'Special Convention'.
  

  And notice how the OP's opening post has '4 likes' from forum members here - yes, that's how fake news works - it panders to confirmation bias - you make a statement, with no proof, that people want to hear, they want it to be true <sigh>

  (BTW I listed the 'rounded' publisher numbers to give the number of venues some context in terms of increase, that's all - the 2017 is just the 2016 publisher figure rounded-up)

  That's cool - yeah they say 'God's people would be persecuted', but I understood that they also believed ALL religion would ultimately be 'persecuted' - therefore they can't simply take 'persecution' in it's self as a 'stand-alone' identifying mark.

  125,000 average publishers
  14 English venues / dates (mainland, excluding Guernsey)

  2017
  135,000 average publishers
  21 English venues / dates (mainland, excluding Guernsey)

  In addtion in the UK they're starting to get conventions running at the same venue over a number of weekends.

  No, they're getting more and more venue/date-wise albeit each one smaller - with a lower number of publishers assigned to each one.

  The exception to this is if your country has got 'Special Convention' like here:
