JWs in a frenzy!
by leaving_quietly inanyone else get the distinct impression that jws are being worked up into a frenzy with all the changes and activity nowadays?
by the end of august, there will have been four campaigns inside of a year.
one last november, a memorial campaign, a convention campaign and an advertise jw.org campaign.. then there's the conventions with all the hooplah around that with all the video, and the aggrandizement of synchronized gb talks.

How many remember the 15 min break Between the Public Tlk and WT Study?
by Wasanelder Once inas kid i remember a break of 15 minutes between the public talk and the wt study.
all the new ones and "weak" ones ran out to smoke.
loved to see the attendant round them up to come back in when the droning began again.

Lots of threads for me to catch up.
I remember the smoke-break after the talk. But it didn't add extra time, so it was a welcome break.
Another oddity back then was the WT study - the paragraph was Q and A'd, and after the Q & A's, then the paragraph was read by the reader.
It seemed weird when it was switched to read before the Q & A's.

Scared I'll Never be Happy Again
by Stumbeline inso it's' been 8 months since i was disfellowshiped.
i moved out of my mothers house accross the country to room with a friend.
things have been going ok, it's just strange to be so far away from everything that felt familiar, even the meetings.

Do you have any friends from your old hall that still supported you?
Initially, I was surprised at the number of youths that lead "double-lives" (I.e. they're human, not drones).
They've made a huge difference in my child keeping sane.

The zoolander experiment.
by sparrowdown indo you think romantic relationships work better in the long run if both partners are roughly intellectual equals?.

There are way too many variables for a definitive answer.
The sad thing is that most in their youth do not know what they will want when they're older.

It feels like a twin life to mine, only you're farther up the road than me.
"The worse fear was that she and I would survive Armageddon and then I'd be stuck with her for all eternity! If that had happened, I was going to be the first suicide in paradise!"
Always loved Meatloaf - for a few years now, the lyrics have a lot more meaning.
Thanks for the post.

He should have read the red parts in court.
Interesting that the elder said that it's okay to say Hi! at the supermarket.

Help With Legal Project - Children in Judicial Meetings
by berrygerry inan acquaintance in canada is making a serious attempt at ending children being forced, or coerced, to attend a judicial meeting.. are there any here who had to attend such a meeting, and would be willing to contribute their feelings?.
likewise, any who were baptized as minors, but felt later that at the time of their baptism, they were not old enough to have made that decision..

The walkout is already happening, a young JW I've known since birth just left her parents when they were out of town.
She was the last person that I would have expected.
The concern is the amount of mental/emotional damage that is being done, whether they eventually leave or not.
