i have to share this with you.. after leaving the borg i had to concentrate to solve so many personal problems (financial, child custody, etc.

) that it left me with a poor social life.

i just didn't have the nerve/time to make new friends.

Visited with some Christians who try to rescue JW's and Mormons.

They are quite knowledgable about both groups.

Told them about the new method of door-to-door (Can't stop to talk - just visit the website - they'll send somewhat right to your own home to talk to you), tract placements counted as brochures, 30 hour AP, text messages as RV's, and emailing PDF's counted as a placement.

People are stunned at the nonsense.

Social media strategy to expose JW molestation issues

there are a lot of jws who will never hear about the molestation issues the wt has because all their friends on social media are fellow cult members.. what i'm going to attempt is to create a profile for an alter ego.

it will have a profile pic and banner that says "jw.org" or some other pro-jw nonsense.. then i will attempt to befriend a jw.

when one bites and accepts me the others will fall like dominoes and also accept my friendship.. at first i will post pro-jw things that will get me "likes", subscribers, and promotions in their news feed.. then i will lower the boom by posting the recent news video from the texas molestation story.

I actually think that TOMO will push more people out than any other single method.

Many the Borg will decide that, after all, TOMO is actually suffering severe PTSD from his war experience and send him off to Special Pioneer in New Orleans.

JWs - A View From Outside

i never was a jw (i make this point in - almost - every post) but having been brought up ('raised' for our us cousins) in a non-conformist fundy sect with 'rapture' aspirations, it wasn't that different.. i still have extended family members in it, or in that mindset, but we rarely discuss religion.

in particular, my sister and bil lost their son (my nephew) some years ago when he was just 13. their comfort is that he is in a 'better place' and i don't want to challenge that to them.. i keep up with all things jw here in this forum and maintain my academic interest and these are just my thoughts as an outsider, for what they are worth.. ime, those people who have heard of jws tend to lump them in with mormons and other crazies and have no knowledge or interest in them - other than to warn neighbours when they are about.. where i live should be prime 'witnessing' territory but they rarely come round, even in the recent leafletting campaign.

they are not as effective as the people who regularly call with the latest menus from the local curry/chinese/kebab houses.. on the occasions when jws have called, despite invitations to come in and have a cup of tea, etc., none has ever wanted to engage in conversation, far less progress to an invitation to a kh meeting or start a bible study (and i always present myself as an 'imterested householder').. my conversations with people in general and friends in the real world lead me to conclude that few people have heard of jws, those that have regard them as a minor irrevelant nuisance and that there is no interest in their message or beliefs.. a few months ago i did a 'drive-past' of the million pound seafront property in bangor, north wales that wt recently bought for use as a 'translation office' (ha ha!).

JWs are pursuing outdated model of proselytation that had worked 80-40 years ago, but does not work anymore.

It must have been quite a battle at the top when a marketing company told the WTS to concentrate on a website and on cartoon characters, when so many influential old-timers would be saying what has worked in the past will work today.
