i have not turned in a single field service report this year.
i decided not to, after noticing the simple flaw in the calculation of 1914. the implications are huge, i.e the appointment of the fds is a fraud.
i some days ago informed them of the private watchtower documents that are in my possession courtesy of the royal commission.

I am happy with my spirituality and with my personal relationship with Jehovah.
As my personal relationship with Jehovah is just that, personal, I do not feel comfortable discussing something that important, and that personal, with anyone.
i was raised a witness, baptized at 16, vacation pioneered, got married, etc.
i was very much your typical witness and believed it was the truth until last summer.
a very close relative of mine left the witnesses.
He's a really good man and has been a really good husband. He has treated me very well and I love him dearly and I was tempted to stay in for his sake but as you know that bell cannot be unrung. Once you know the truth about the truth there is no going back.
I am living in limbo. My husband and I are spending time together again and he does not nag me about going in field service or to meetings. I attended the memorial but that is it. I skipped out on the convention and hubby said nothing to me. I don't know how long this can go on and I am very surprised the elders have left me alone.
I play Neil Sedaka's song in my head repeatedly: "Waking Up Is Hard to Do" (to the sound of Breaking Up is Hard to Do).
I woke up like hitting a brick wall, and expected my spouse to do the same.

I am not in favor of this. regardless of the lack of humanity the GB has shown to those who have suffered under their rule, I still believe mercy should be shown to them individually. I will still feel sorry for him even if he has caused such pain to others. I am human and so is he.

no one has shown anything but great interest and empathy for those who were abused.. i don't know who this simonsays character is though and i find him to be very rude and ignorant.

I was also under the impression that this was limited to a 2-week period.
Given that this will carry on for as long as it takes, would it not be appropriate to create a no-post sticky, so that any Aussie members or other visitors could contact the RC?
my wife and i planned on fading but the elders now want a shepherding call and we are just done.
i know that many play the game to try to stay in, but i'm not a game player and neither is my wife.
our families already shun us because we reached out to a disfellowshipped family member.

went to a couple of meetings and then the thrill was gone.
Being in the WTS clutches in like catching herpes (oral or genital).
It doesn't always surface, but it can never be removed.
Certain triggers may activate it.
the governing body have painted themselves in a corner, so to speak.
if they acknowledge their response to abuse claims was insensitive, unloving and inadequate they are denying the belief that "god's way" is best and risk losing abuse cases.
if they stick with it and say it is "god's way according to the bible" they will be seen as cult leaders and risk losing abuse cases.
I am not going to dispute what you are saying, I DO NOT agree with the WTS/GB but my point is that regardless of how wrong they (elders/WTS/GB) are, if the victims (if old enough) and or parents reported these cases to the police to begin with, then there would not be any cases that are said to be unreported cases to the authorities.
If you have been whatsoever following the hearings, you will see that everyone on this board knows.
That THE FIRST THING that the parents of a victim MUST DO is talk to the elders.
Virtually every victim is told NOT to complain to the secular authorities, and to leave matters in Jehovah's hands. Otherwise, the victim will be disfellowshipped.
Not only is that the "OFFICIAL" position of WTS, it goes completely against the policies or laws of most modern countries.

This onus to report is EXPONENTIALLY stronger on persons in authority, i.e., (church leaders - elders).
INACTION is morally, ethically, and in most countries, legally, wrong.
It is not just wrong, it is beyond thinking that you would defend inaction.

there are a few jw's i know who believe that when the gb takes a decision this is what happens:.
each member goes into a separate room, prays about something.
after that, they get together and they all have the same thought about the issue.. what are the craziest ideas you heard about the way they are "guided".
