July 19th Watchtower Summary. Insanity

just got back from the wt study and it overall was just so blindingly biased and leading.. i had to read it from the platform too, i hope they couldn't see the confounded look on my face as i read this craziness out!.

first we consider the faith of abel, enoch, noah, abraham, isaac and jacob, and moses.. all of these people are held up as sterling examples of blind faith, with the article pointedly saying that their imaginations sustained their faith in gods promises for them.

no mention anywhere at all that all of these characters saw and talked to angels, spoke to god himself, saw and performed miracles, or any of the other feats experienced by these characters.

Question about the fade

i know there are a lot of threads on here about fading and i've read a lot of them, but i have a question that i haven't found the answer to yet.. what would happen if you move to a new congregation (or at least tell your old congregation that you are moving and to have your records moved), and you don't go to any meetings?

i see lots of the fading strategies say to go to some meetings and show your face until your name is announced.

what exactly happens if you don't go to meetings in the new congregation?.

Choose a new congo that is in the opposite direction of where you live.

Also, do you have a worldly friend or relative in that opposite direction?

Use their address - and if anyone shows up at that address, have them say that you moved away - don't know where.

I hated the elevator rule!! I had to ride past my stop many times because heavies were on the elevator with me. Then I would have to stay on and go back to my floor. What a crock.

I'm surprised that they haven't installed keylocks in the elevators then.

Or maybe, a pay-per-ride device.

I still have clothes with my tagged number on them.

Was envisioning the laundry process today because of this thread. That included the tags on clothes.

Also reminded of a thread in the past, when Bethelites asked and answered: "How long have you been in?" as if it were a prison sentence.

In many ways, Bethel sounds worse than prison.

To DA or not to DA, that is the question?

let me preface this by saying that i don't expect anyone here to make my decision for me.

i do however note that like the bible says, in the multitude of counselors there is wisdom, and this is a huge decision, so i wanted to put it out there for discussion.

i really appreciate your words of wisdom, as this affects not just me but my wife also, as we find ourselves in the same boat.

now you pay fines for your sins.. adultery is a 450 euro's ( for a firsttimer).

smoking is a 300 -500 euro's sin ( depents on what the blow was).

Mentally, I have ALWAYS wrestled with the contradiction of Job and of Matt. 6:33.

Satan challenged that if a JW were tested with material, etc. distress, then that JW would cave.

Jesus, however, said that a faithful JW would always have his needs cared for.

It cannot be both.

I prayed like Gideon. Gideon prayed for a specific answer - dry fleece or not dry.

I often prayed for some kind of direction, please, like Gideon - often, and fervently.

Never an answer.

I tried as hard as a human could try. No answer.

Our family went through horrific stresses (electric cut off [twice], natural gas cut off, foreclosure [twice] ).

And yet, at least twice, we received what I consider miraculous events.

Once, a payment (over 10k), TO THE DAY, when I needed it.

Another, a phone call that led to a payment of over 10k, exiting the parking lot of the Sunday DC, of which I was hungover and forced myself to attend the Sunday session.

WTF?

How does a person rationalize this stuff?
