Many JW's have been following the ARC on the official JW web site. It contains all the information and reports that have been approved by the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses for publication:
Good one.
sorry as this topic may have been covered many times but any thoughts or links to other topics on how the pro-jw websites are commenting on this.. rub a dub.

Good one.
this post was in the other thread about geoffrey being in australia.
thought it should have its own post.. urgent urgent urgent.
i am a producer at abc television in sydney.
I am not in favor of this. regardless of the lack of humanity the GB has shown to those who have suffered under their rule, I still believe mercy should be shown to them individually. I will still feel sorry for him even if he has caused such pain to others. I am human and so is he.
James 3:1
Not many of YOU should become teachers, my brothers, knowing that we shall receive heavier judgment.
If heavier judgment for elders, how much more so for God`s mouthpiece, the FDS, or GB, who appoint and direct said elders?
.
Similarly today the power of appointment of all servants in congregations rightfully rests with the governing body of the "faith and discreet slave" class, which is under the direct supervision of Christ Jesus at the temple. (Watchtower, June 1, 1955 p. 333)
firstly, thank you to anyone who is in support of this rc.
no one has shown anything but great interest and empathy for those who were abused.. i don't know who this simonsays character is though and i find him to be very rude and ignorant.
it takes all kinds to make the world go round i suppose.. today i was contacted by a staff member of the royal commission.
I was also under the impression that this was limited to a 2-week period.
Given that this will carry on for as long as it takes, would it not be appropriate to create a no-post sticky, so that any Aussie members or other visitors could contact the RC?
my wife and i planned on fading but the elders now want a shepherding call and we are just done.
i know that many play the game to try to stay in, but i'm not a game player and neither is my wife.
our families already shun us because we reached out to a disfellowshipped family member.
You can change congos without moving (many switch to a foreign-language one), and then just continue your fade.
There is a big push to re-activate - so, you're not necessarily being targeted, per se.
back again since about 10yrs ago.
last year attended the international convention in new orleans and was feeling some type of way afterwards.
went to a couple of meetings and then the thrill was gone.
Being in the WTS clutches in like catching herpes (oral or genital).
It doesn't always surface, but it can never be removed.
Certain triggers may activate it.
the governing body have painted themselves in a corner, so to speak.
if they acknowledge their response to abuse claims was insensitive, unloving and inadequate they are denying the belief that "god's way" is best and risk losing abuse cases.
if they stick with it and say it is "god's way according to the bible" they will be seen as cult leaders and risk losing abuse cases.
I am not going to dispute what you are saying, I DO NOT agree with the WTS/GB but my point is that regardless of how wrong they (elders/WTS/GB) are, if the victims (if old enough) and or parents reported these cases to the police to begin with, then there would not be any cases that are said to be unreported cases to the authorities.
If you have been whatsoever following the hearings, you will see that everyone on this board knows.
That THE FIRST THING that the parents of a victim MUST DO is talk to the elders.
Virtually every victim is told NOT to complain to the secular authorities, and to leave matters in Jehovah's hands. Otherwise, the victim will be disfellowshipped.
Not only is that the "OFFICIAL" position of WTS, it goes completely against the policies or laws of most modern countries.
EVERY PERSON in Canada MUST report abuse. ( Sample: http://www.children.gov.on.ca/htdocs/English/topics/childrensaid/reportingabuse/abuseandneglect/abuseandneglect.aspx )
This onus to report is EXPONENTIALLY stronger on persons in authority, i.e., (church leaders - elders).
INACTION is morally, ethically, and in most countries, legally, wrong.
It is not just wrong, it is beyond thinking that you would defend inaction.

there are a few jw's i know who believe that when the gb takes a decision this is what happens:.
each member goes into a separate room, prays about something.
after that, they get together and they all have the same thought about the issue.. what are the craziest ideas you heard about the way they are "guided".
The best thing that I recently read, in court transcript, is that of Fred Franz, as vice-president of WTS (and therefore a member of, if not THE, FDS:
Q. "Who is the editor of The Watchtower?"
FF: "Jehovah God."
blondies comments you will not hear at the 07-26-2015 wt study (imitate god (wheres jesus?
))(may 15, 2015 issue).

Just as a mother has tender feelings for her baby, Jehovah is moved to act lovingly in behalf of his people.
Of course, when that baby later refuses to comply with the Borg, that child will be condemned to everlasting rejection and death.
For instance, the common people lived in fear of the religious leaders, who deceived them and burdened them with many man-made rules.
For example, look up "Questions from Readers" on the WT Library.
After one extensive preaching tour, Jesus and his apostles were about to go to an isolated place to get some rest. Because he felt pity for the crowd awaiting him, however, Jesus took time “to teach them many things.”
How about you? Are you tired after trying to provide for your family because you work a dead-end minimum wage job, according to the Borg's desires. Well, attend the meeting and field service anyways.
Gradually, Alan understands what it is like to be an older person who finds it hard to read the Bible or walk from house to house.
Finally, Alan looks at the elderly man, and Alan says to himself: Why the heck did you listen to the Borg all those years telling you that you would never grow old in this system? Why did you not prepare for retirement and old age like a normal human being?
Alan says to himself: "FTS, I'm outta this cult!"
Others are coping with emotional trials because of depression, panic attacks, or the aftereffects of abuse.
Hello, Borg drones.
Still others are part of a religiously divided family or a single-parent household
Again. Hello, Borg drones.
Everyone faces some problem, and often it is one we ourselves have not experienced. In such a case, how can we imitate God’s love? By listening intently until we understand the other person’s feelings, at least to some extent. This will move us to imitate Jehovah’s love by acting according to the need. The need is different with each individual, but we may be able to provide spiritual encouragement and some other practical help.
An extremely empty Borg statement.
God’s Son said: “The Most High . . . is kind toward the unthankful and wicked.”
How can we imitate God’s kindness?
Imagine that a congregation member, whether an adult or a child, comes to us, as an elder, with a complaint of sexual abuse?
How should we view the person being complained about? Often, such allegations of abuse are not substantiated by two witnesses.
Clearly, this goes against Jehovah's thinking as expressed to us in the law given to Moses.
However, even if there was SOME substantiation to the allegation: Should not the elders consider more important factors?
For example, is the person complained against repentant?
Does he have evidence of Jehovah's blessing? That is, is he regular in field service?
Does he give thoughtful comments at meetings, of which he is a regular supporter?
Does he contribute his time and resources to the advancement of Jehovah's Kingdom and his interests?
Clearly, this is how Jehovah views imperfect men.
Do we hold imperfect worshipers of Jehovah to a different standard?
the royal commission hearing starting on monday, july 27, 2015 - australian day and date - (and it could go on until august 7th depending on how many witnesses testify) regarding jehovah's witnesses handling of child abuse is supposed to be streamed.. it could be that the hearing will only be audio not video although we were informed it will be streamed.
we'll find out in a few hours.. i live in the central time zone of the us and right now here it is sunday, 3: 45 pm.
in sydney, australia, it is 15 hours ahead of us.
it was stated that the Aussie Branch said that they and all the other branches don't make the rules, but they follow the rules made elsewhere. This is a glimpse into what no doubt will be part of their defense. Wait and see how they're going to put the blame on WT leaders in the US.
If there was ever such a case for a global class-action lawsuit.
