However, in the case of Eutychus at Acts 20:9, the ransom had already been paid. So Eutychus, according to God's own law on sin, should still be alive.
Damn. Good one.
i was withh a friend of mine who is a jw still and for whatever reason we started talking the bible.
i asked him about lazarus and how is that when he died he paid the price of sin, but then jesus resurrected him.
and i asked him "where is lazarus today?

I believe the Lazarus' defense is that Jesus hadn't given his ransom yet, so no one was entitled to a perfect resurrection.
But your question is still valid.
If Lazarus paid the penalty of sin, why resurrect him again as being imperfect (WT answer is that that way, Lazarus can be resurrected the next time as a 144,000).

i am trying to write a stand up comedy sketch on my book of bible stories.. one idea is how the violence, rape have helped me with making decisions as an adult.
another idea is to pretend the book is being released today and attempt to sell the book and stories to the audience.. do you have any ideas?.
thats somthing i see thats asked in my kingdom hall if you want to go get more than 2 years in collage.thing in some one asking that to me or etc i cant say any thing or that would show that i dont believe.. i hate when some one askes me that when i try to plan ahead when it comes to what job i want.what job would help me hold my own but no god will give if you put him first.i dont believe in god even when i did i never buyed into that.. it seems you cant get away from the question im only 13 and i get that question theres no getting away from it..
Father used to say that we should plan ahead as if Armageddon would not come in our lifetime but lead our life as if it would come tomorrow—precious advice that I have always tried to apply. Balancing patience and eager expectation is not always easy, especially since the ravages of old age now keep me confined at home.
well, it's been a long time!
i first lurked here around 20 years ago and read huge amounts of threads which certainly helped when i was making my decision to leave the religion.
i was never baptised (resisted it!

In The True Believer,9 a book on mass movements, Eric Hoffer suggests at least a third of the population are "true believers." They are joiners and followers, people who want to give away their power, looking for answers, meaning, and enlightenment outside themselves. This type of person is "not intent on bolstering and advancing a cherished self, but are those craving to be rid of unwanted self." This type of person is "eternally incomplete and eternally insecure!" and can easily be transformed into fanatics who will gladly work and die for their holy cause whether politics, churches, businesses or social cause groups. Mass movements generally have a charismatic ruler, and a devil. This type of person is unlikely to be reading this site, they don't want to know. Neither am I convinced that this type of person should stop being a Jehovah's Witness. If they do they most likely will become involved in a similar organization that also uses manipulation to force its members into a prescribed way of life.
was talking with a family member today and they said that there is something special going on at the kh this weekend.
any idea what it is?
they said that some kind of broadcast from bethel for everyone..

The case has been brought on behalf of current and former Jehovah’s Witnesses who claim they were sexually assaulted by Elders of the organization. There is also a class of claimants composed of those who allege that when they were children they were sexually assaulted by adult Jehovah’s Witnesses.
This is a case of very bad corporate decision-making.
The days of corporations 'waiting-out' bad news are long over.
Although United Airlines (as well as VW) seems to be the slow learner in the corporate bunch, BP, pipeline and oil companies, and others get in front of these stories and deal with them head on.
WT's virtual immunity as a religion in the US did absolutely nothing for it in Australia, and it is destined to be repeated in Canada.

The organizational structure in Canada leaves most Kingdom Halls at risk.
These law firms know what they are doing.
just came across a meme of the leader of the mormon church (lds) saying "believe, obey and endure".
it just reminded me of the jw mantra "listen, obey and be blessed".
😂.
