Village girl, you need to learn to read more history, at that time the Muslims were FAR more moderate than the Christians...
Basicly the OT and the Koran are very similar, which is good as the OT is full of such nice things...
islam /muslims today are what christianity was centuries ago , the two beleif systems are like oil and water , not to be mixed .
christians are not tolerated spreading their infectious disease amongst muslims, in islamic countrys , and harsh penalties apply for them doing so in muslim countries , including the death penalty.
stonings , whippings etc.. on the other hand christian nations are very tolerant of muslim extremists who incite hatred and violence on their own territory , and they get a slap on the wrist and say dont do it again .

so, i happened to see a young lady.
she's about 13 or 14, can't be more than 16 years old.
fresh faced, rosy cheeks, and a little pudgy.
there is no way that tattoos will stop the next generation from job opportunities , those days are long gone, I would estimate that 80 percent of the twenty to thirties I know have them.
ot law required jews to take the lead in stoning a family member who became apostate.. the watchtower has lamented the fact that the law of the land now forbids them from doing so.. if the law permitted it, as it does in some musim countries, and if the watchtower required it, would your family obey?.
my parents are good people and i believe their love for me is genuine, but i think they would follow orders.. what about yours?.
happily, as I was told on many occasions
skunks underneath the house....
does the smell never go away? silly question, but what's it smell like?
the classic debate between those who believe that consciousness is merely the result of the operation of the brain, and those who believe that it is apart from the brain, like the idea of a soul or the classic dualistic distinction between mind and body, is a well-known one.. however the thought has occurred that when people try to convince me that the soul cannot be real; soul in the sense of consciousness being a separate thing to the operation of the brain, then really the materialistic non spiritual view is in fact a rehash of animism, strange as that might sound.. animism is the idea that soul, spirit, consciousness, or whatever it might be called, exists in plants, animals, things, objects, places or basically in everything and anything in the material world.
the view of some is that very primitive cultures had this wide category of spiritual belief, which eventually evolved into the all the religions, faiths and spiritualties of today.
some of the faiths of modern times are not defined as animistic because these draw a distinction between soul and body or in modern parlance, consciousness and brain.. so in very ancient times, at the dawn of human spiritual belief, the sun, for example, rising and setting was seen not so much as being caused by the proverbial spaghetti monster but as being the proverbial spaghetti monster.
iN my opinion there is no correlation between the two positions .
The concept of the soul is an attempt to explain consciousness, animism is an attempt to explain the sold, prior to science..

Another pointless tragedy.
After the school shooting I totally lost any faith i had that the American people may see a different way.
They simply either do not see or do not care that the rest of the world lives totally differently to the way they do.
i once had a very nice and sincere American guy talking to me about guns.
he was astounded that I was perfectly happy without a gun, and said, oh but you must never live alone. I replied that my partner is constantly away for work, I am Far more often alone than with someone...
He genuinely was astounded, and said, but you seem such a sensible person....
i was speechless...
so, i'm quite excited but also slightly freaked out as i'm able to go this summer instead of next like i had counted on (my daughter graduates next year and i was planning to go then).
this means i'm doing this last minute and i wanted to see if any of you have used https://www.go-today.com or gateone travel or go ahead travel?.
i'm planning on london, paris and rome for two weeks, likely july at this point.
There are lots of cheap nice hotels in paddington London, right by the tube station. I can recommend the Falcon, and friends liked the Cardiff..
go have a wonderful time!!
so yesterday i stopped by my sisters home and decided to just hang out and shoot the breeze... she was telling me that since she has stopped going to the kingdom hall (the last 9 months) she still looks for things to do on sunday.
she feels she should go and do something and she likes the idea of church.
it seems fun and will giove her a place to meet people.
Years ago I took a friend who is a devout Catholic to mass at Easter. They had a back injury so needed a lot of help.
IT WAS AMAZING!!!!
I am both a history freak and a total athiest.
the sense of history, the Latin, the insence. The TOTAL lack of pressure. The sense of watching ancient theatre totally blew me away...
and you know what...
It's the same stories, theres no child ritual sacrifice. it was a very worth who experience. I felt such a fool for believing all I was told.
Next year I'm off to Rome, and cant wait...
my daughter will be getting married this coming august.
she and her future husband are not jehovah's witnesses.
they will have a non-religious wedding ceremony.
heres a hypothetical
imagine that this person is black( or blue, or green)
The relatives who you know will walk out arent jw, just bigots.
Bet there wouldn't be a momenta hesitation what to do would there ?
this is the same thing, exactly..
