Being a JW Used to Be Fun :-)
by snowbird inwe found some people who were happy to welcome us into their homes, even offering us food and drink.. sometimes, they would flag us down and ask for the magazines, walk miles to the kh meetings, come to our defense if someone got ugly or rude.. now, jw's are either routinely ignored or outright vilified.. no one respects them anymore.. sad.. .

Yes i attended a day of the RC yesterday. Had a very big touch of 'the old days' when I was 5-10 years old. But it faded when I glanced over at my cousins who used to be my playmates. the youngest is 32!... It's all a childhood dream we grow up with. Family.. friends.. Big Jah in the sky...
Eliminate the later and move the family ahead 25 years and WOW!.. it feels the same but... it's not!
Added to this I remember the old Joshua drama.... That was fun... this was the lamest of lame I watched yesterday

Was Jehovah 40 years early
by Socrateswannabe inhere's a question for all you bible students out there, both critics and apologists: in 1513 bce the israelites were said to be in the wilderness, without food, so jeh gave them miraculous manna to eat.
exodus 16:35 says they ate it for 40 years.
the funny thing is that a year after they began eating manna, the bible book of leviticus, which wts says was written in 1512, records a mind-numbing litany of rules and regulations regarding sacrifices that were to be made at the tabernacle, which had just recently been put into use.

The problem is easy to solve. Both these texts were written down after the exile. One was a text about ancestors in Egyot and leaving Egypt (Which many exilic Jews did after the Babyloian captivity (Jeremiah's crew went to Egypt) .... The Food laws are a mix however the oes in Levitcus were written by fairly well educated and well paid priests in the Persian Era... Maybe even more likly the early Hellenistic Era of 300BCE or so. Joshua contains accounts of priestly origin too... circumsicion... the food verse you mentioned... and dividing of land which spans the middle chapters.
In my reasearch I have found there is no complete Torah in history until 263BCE... The Septuigent. That was the likely point the texts were redacted together into the spiderweb they are today.

I remember one odd brother saying he felt Jesus has been ruling on earth since 1975 invisably.. he is just waiting through 'the Eve period' for Armagedden. I guess he will hand the kingdom over to the father in 2975 lol

WT Society Alters their History as " The Party " did in George Orwell's 1984
by flipper infinally my wife and i got around to reading george orwell's " 1984 " .
as many of you know who have read the book that " the party " or " big brother " as the ruling power in the book is called ; constantly changes records of it's past dealings so as to deceive the public about any false forecasts they may have mistakenly made ; in an effort to put forth a positive image of itself it destroys past embarrassing records or paperwork which would expose the " party " as a failure.
much the way the wt society has altered their history to deceive the public and their own members.. notice this quote from george orwell's " 1984 " on pg.

I rarely read nooks. I listen to them. My job is fairly reptative so I listen to many many audio books. I'll have to check 1984 out... I saw a movie of it once I think... John Hurt?

What's more to blame- the WT or the bible?
by keyser soze inaren't they both just differen't variations of the same lie?
the only difference is the scale on which their impact on humanity is measured.
that, and the fact that the bible can exist without the wt, but not vice versa.. but at the end of the day, what's the difference between claiming to be the inspired word of god, or the one true religion?

I came from JW to being awake by knowing the bible is not true (Not as a whole... of course some kings ruled in Israel or Judah so many years etc... true)
As I did I started to read the bible... I neaver had before. I have read it 7 times since and respect it not as a godly book but as the world greatest literary work.

Doctines:
1. Gay people are reporbates.. they cannot be saved.. HATE THEM!
2. Barak Obama should melt like a snail for allowing abortion.
3. Jesus is the word and since Jesus is Gon-Son... the bible you hold in you hand is GOD!
4. The King James is so perfect you cannot get saved with and NIV or NLT etc.
5. Education is bad. School kids at home because otherwise the government will brainwash them!
6. Oppose police anytime you see them. Cause a fuss. Claim you are a citizen of Israel based on Ephesians 2 and have them work all day to identify you!
7. Carry you wife around in the morning. Let her know you are the head and she is the tail
8. Have as many kids as you want. Don;t be like Onan!
9. Unsaved people should not come to church... Kick them out!
10. The bible is literal! So when 2 Samuel 22/Psalm 18 describe weird things in the sky God did all this for David!
As you can tell this is comedy at best. Not only that he is younger then me.
He is well aware I parody and even repeat his videos under the tile "Why Christianity is Bad" at times.. But of course the persucution complex.
The ironic thing is recently on YouTube I saw an ex JW mirror his 'soulwinning to JW' video as a good way to win a JW 'to Christ'
1. This is stupid... One religion to another!
2. The 'jw' in the video is not a JW and Pastor anderson has to stop the video a second to correct him!

Islam does not exist without the bible. Read the Quran.. Christians and Jews are 'People of the Scripture. Moses reveal the Law... David the Psalms... Jesus the Gospel and Mohammud the Quran... The numbers of stories in the Quran that are based on the bible take up half the Quran. The rest is divided into
Praising Allah
Prasing the prophet
elling other how to live.
