The 1950s NWT (1984)

i did a video on this subject once but feel this is a noteworthy topic.

to be honest the old nwt has come under sonsiderable attack from fundie morons attacking it's nt which was translated with a few revisals in 1950.the truth is john 1:1 and 8:58 and other texts, though despite being odd, are within the translation rules as are the inclusion of the word {other} since this was stated in the forward as an interpolation.

Jeffro I believe the NWT is not really a translation at all. If you check you will find that four guys worked on the so-called translation and only Freddie Franz had a bit of knowledge in Greek (Not Hebrew)

I agree it's a rework of the ASV and keep in mind the WT published both the ASV and KJV at this time in the 1940's and 1950's . The ASV is a decent translation in my opinion and the bible I often use online the World English Bible is based on it. However the society did not translate so much as copy and update the ASV with a lexicon next to them and some cleaver imagination at certian points. At some places they fall short and it becomes appearant in Genesis 1 when they render spirit as actve force. I mean that's obviously doctrinaly based. Spirit or wind would have sufficed.

As for influence from the KJV \i haven't seen it but I wish they had used it. Somehow I always laugh inside when I read 'pisseth against the wall'

So the OT?

Many have praised the Hebrew scripture of the NWT and to be honest they are 99% intact and somewhat accurate with a few notable exceptions it will now list which are HILARIOUS!

1. Is it really nessicary to preceed Elohim with {true}. I mean the expression 'the true god' is well used with witnesses.. it's all an addion.

2. Dungy idols. Now let's be honset. It's not in the text. Only a foold would do this.

3.I need to quote this story in 1 Samuel 14>>

Then Jonʹa·than said: “Here we are crossing over to the men, and let us expose ourselves to them. 9 If this is the way they should say to us, ‘Stand still until we make contact with YOU!’ we must then stand where we are, and we should not go on up to them......With that the two of them exposed themselves to the outpost of the Phi·lisʹtines. And the Phi·lisʹtines proceeded to say: “Here are the Hebrews coming out from the holes where they have hidden themselves.”+ 12 So the men of the outpost answered Jonʹa·than and his armor-bearer and said: “Come on up to us, and we will let YOU know a thing!”

I quote mined a bit but anyone of mature age is probably facepalming at the way this chapter is translated. I mean these vereses were changed in the 2013 NWT. But is the 1950's some pervert translated the text this way. He likely also translated Jeremiah 5: 8 which says:

Horses seized with sexual heat, having [strong] testicles, they have become. They neigh each one to the wife of his companion.

Huh? sorry I have checked the Hebrew text against a Lexicon as well as multiple translations and sadly there are no horses testicles in this verse. Unless... your a pervert.

But before I go to the last goofy verse in the OT of the NWT let's consider what the NT says happened to Jesus in the NWT 1984. Yep he was "Impaled". This is a vastly different punishment then cruxifiction. Oh yes the obvious conclusion a JW makes is it refers to nails in Jesus's hands. But sadly any normal reader would back off here. Yes these verses of Jesus be implaed were changed to in 2013.

Lastly the stupidiy of the translators is sen at Job 6:6. I mean really is this the signs of a moron? Most transaltions have trouble deciding if the proverb here is about a tastless egg white or a Mallow plant. I guess the NWT decided a mallow plant as they did in the 2013 NWT. But in the 1950-1984 era they chose this hilarous line:

Will tasteless things be eaten without salt,Or is there any taste in the slimy juice of marshmallow?

I'm stumped at this. The pervert and so-called translator has a name BTW Freddie Franz just so you know.

The Worst doctrine of JWs- Ressurection and Paradise

besides the facts that one needs to take numerous verses from the ot and nt and smash them together to make this theology (which works out to a modern day zorastriaism) the whole concept is realy horrific.. first it teachs that your life is worthless and should be exploited until the next one in paradise/or heaven.

second it teachs that you dead loved ones are still around either in heaven or jeblooper's memory.

so don't greive.

Those pictures in paradise... A person with an average wage on an average vacation could find those things... minus the wild aminals that are tame.. for that you need a zoo I guess.. Imean think about it the ressurection is evil..think of the marriage issue...

Historicity of the Prophets

for many years i have sought to understand how the bible was put together.. thus my name on here.

i started out more or less in line with what many schoolars felt in both old and new testament studies and over the year my notes have flucuated with dates and probable authorship.

a few years ago i slid into minimalist or copenhagen school understanding of the texs but still retained a slight historicity of the prophets.

The problem is pistolpete that Harry Potter claims to be fiction. The bible does not in fact Genesis-Kings is wirtten with a style of histories like Herotudus or others.

Some events in those books happened mostly in 2 Kings. This is confirmed in archeology which is why it is often hard for a post-christian society to reject the myth from the facts. Illiad has a history but is mostly myth, The bible has the same issue. An issue I find facisinaing and a deadly plague to JWs if they ever find it out,

Third the paradise doctrine does nothing to help the world. Saw a documentary on Netflix about the world conditions.. forgort it's name but the old guy showed progress being made as well.. not by christians though!

Let me tell a sad story. A terrible story I knew a beutiful girl. In her late teens when I first met her. (Not my gf or anything... I was already married... She was just a family friend of my wife) Very nice and with a nice family (so I thought). She had mental issue though. Being in a country that was still a developing counry her times of mental breakdown were often laughed about by so-called friends (JWs) as 'water on the brain'.

The next time I saw the girl was in 2015 she had a breakdown as was suicidal. She was a pioneer. hmm...

I never saw her again. She killed herself in 2018 and on her facebook page I got the idea... die now... paaidse later. Her parents hardly grieved openly I found out.. her sisters grieved but were in ministry a week later preaching the very doctrine that killed her....in my opinion

Since the day I was filled not with greive be sheer hot anger and rage! I hated the ressurection and paradise doctrine since I mentally exited in 2012.. but 2018 filled me with rage. White hot anger!

I realized at that moment the wost dotrine of the WT might not be two witneses or blood tranfusions.. it might be hidden.. it might just be the cause of all the WT deaths.. the f**king ressurection doctrine. The blood transfusion is actually secondary. Think about it. With no rssurection doctrine who would die for it? Thus this ressuretion idea is the root.

And it goes futher. When I exited mentally in 2012.. I wasn't until 2019 that I became finally at ease with my own mortality. Seven years or horror with an issue that normal people deal with at their teen or twenties! (I escaped this through the philosophy of Daoism and balance)

Yet what about the child sex/2 witness?.. Yeah without paradise everyone would report and not wait for the 'new system'.

It's my anger that leads me to become more vocal as I am 4/5 faded. As Dawkins says: "The time has come to say enough is enough!"

No more can we tolerate dogma of 2500 years ago creeping into modern children's minds. We need to liquidate all religious systems and ban them 18 or under. I know.. wont happen now.. but 20 years.. oh yeah..
